Custom Maps?
How to add a custom map?

You probably have hidden folders turned off in windows. But you can also navigate to the folder like this:

1. Press windows+R
2. Type appdata in the search console
3. Open LocalLow folder
4. Open AndySztark folder
5. Place your Png in CitystateII

C:/Users/YourName/AppData/LocalLow/AndySztark/CitystateII/

Here's a link to get good quality heightmaps from the real world:
https://tangrams.github.io/heightmapper/

Color black (RGB 0,0,0) is the lowest point and is below the ocean. The shore is at about RGB 12,12,12.

The image has to be a PNG, exactly 2560x2560 and be named "Map 0.png". You can then add two other custom maps "Map 1.png", "Map 2.png".

You can use Worldpainter to edit or create maps too.
It was made for minecraft but works well with Citystate for the terrain itself, the game then procedurally generates the vegetation. A detailed tutorial would be good but I haven't had time yet so here's a quick one:

1. FIile > Import New World > From Heightmap (or you can create one from scratch using a 2560x2560 blocks size)
2. In the import settings, scaling, Minecraft Water Level to be set at 10 (so you know where the shore will be in Citystate).
3. Edit the terrain as you wish (anything other than terrain heights won't matter).
4. Export > Export as high resolution heightmap.

The location for png maps described in the game does not exist. Any solutions?

Also having this issue but can't find any info anywhere.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
