Far Cry

Far Cry

Supported OS: Windows 2000/XP (only)
Is this accurate? Will this game absolutely not run on any other OSes, including newer versions of Windows running in compatibility mode?
Normally I wouldn't bother to ask such a question, but Beyond Good And Evil (another Ubisoft game) says something similar on its page, yet runs just fine on my rig as long as I change a few settings in the Launcher.

I'm considering getting this, but I'm on Windows 7 (64bit) and don't feel like doing a bunch of file tweaks or downloading unofficial patches to get it to run.

Very high launches fine. The game's "Lighting" feature is broken on very high, so you must use very high on everything except "Lighting" in the config.

I have the game on CD-ROM and it works fine on Win7 64-bit and Win8.1 64-bit.
