Does Windows Compatibility Mode Ever Really Work?
I've tried using Compatibility Mode to make older games work properly, and have never seen this so-called "Compatibility Mode" really do anything useful (make older games work correctly to be precise).

Thoughts?

I can't say that I've ever needed to use it. What games are you having trouble with.
It rarely seems to make any difference but once in a great while it's a game saver.
My GTA IV refused to run on any other setting than comp mode for Win 7. Compatibility mode absolutely saved my butt on that one.

Don't forget, sometimes you need to open the relevant file directory, sub-directorys and change all the .exe files to the same comp. mode for it to work.

Will keep that in mind. Thanks.
it might be your hardware
i have a game thatss supposed to work on windowws 8.1 flawlessly

it doesnt work at all
The only thing compatibility mode really did was fix minor issues for games that would otherwise run fine, and even then it's a hit or miss (Like an infamous issue in Diablo 2 on Windows 7, where the wheel on a USB mouse won't work unless you use "Windows XP Service Pack 2" mode.)

Some older games require really elusive tricks to get working properly, but most will work right out of the box, even on a x64 OS.
