Any tips on getting past the roof of the carrer?

I climb up the ladder start shooting at the helicopper and insta die every time.

Found that part rather difficult too. The only poor trick I found is:
- First be sure all weapons are fully reloaded.
- Equip the SAW M-249 that you can find in same level some previous sections.
- To climb up the window you need look up but just look up a little.
- Then when you are ready you can go closer to the ladder and move up.
- When you are on top run to right and your back for some boxes, you need find a place for a temporary protection against the copter but also the enemeis on the other side.
- Crouch and then shoot the copter and aim the guy in the copter shooting at you, with some luck you'll kill the shooters in copter and will even kill the copter.
- Then take care of the other enemies but care I died there more than once too.
- Once you have cleaned all the badies don't do like I did: You need enter in a boat but take care because you can miss it when trying enter the boat. Well at this point you are back in previous level but copters won't let you back to camp like to get a heal pack, that's what I tried, get killed by a copter and stopped play the game disgusted!

EDIT: And another trick is there's health and ammo near to ladder, it's better try avoid use them and use them only after you get rid of the copter.

EDIT2: Frankly even with a difficulty aimed that small part is crap design.

The heli is a special one that is extra weak, it can be shot down with a magazine of the M4. Other than that stay crouching, you can't stand up, there are to many enemies at the beginning.

That's why it get shot but I found it was a bad idea to shoot the copter itself instead you need shoot the guy(s) firing from the copter.

if the carrier is too hard you can skip it and swim around to the boat hanging on the side

Ha ha amazing game, but looking at the other thread he mentions go back but I didn't noticed how, appart jump in water but it hurts and get beck in level 1.

I found a way to get devMode to work. Hitting a key, I can replenish life/ammo/stamina to 999 -- essentially god mode. That beats any tip/hints. I played this game several years back, now I just want to get the heck trhrough it fast.

And you'll end with the feling the game is a crap. I dream, advise god mode, better not lost time and not play it at all.

For the helicopter go back down one level into the carrier and outside onto the catwalk. Perfect cover. Shoot the gunner at your leisure.
Return to the ladder. Climb onto the top deck and immediately go prone.
Turn to your left. Shoot the one gunman, he´s staring in your direction but doesn´t see you.
Turn left again and advance a little. Shoot the one at the mounted gun.
Run to the mounted gun and go ham on all the other mercs.
Loved this part.
