Question about PC Gaming Wiki patches
I'm seeing a lot of patches there. At one point it says in that page to "Install 64-bit Upgrade Patch, FarOut Widescreen, SilentPatch, then run X64 version and turn on V-Sync" for fixing heavy stuttering.

Then under Essential Improvements, it says:

64-bit Upgrade Patch - Upgrades the game to take advantage of 64-bit architectures, allowing for higher frame rates and other optimizations. Both 64 bit patches are NOT intended to be installed over the latest 1.4 patch (which all digital versions include), the effect this could have on gameplay is completely unpredictable.

If all digital versions include this 1.4 patch and I can't install the 64-bit upgrade patch over this, then how the hell do I install this patch?

But there's this part here that says:

Patch v1.4 (32-bit only) - The latest patch available for the game. On non GOG versions, a bug that might be encountered is that the AI can see the player through walls and kill him quickly, use Unofficial Patch 1.41 to fix it.

So I should install Unofficial Patch 1.41 and then 64-bit Upgrade Patch + 64-bit Enhanced Content Patch, right?

Also, there seem to have a problem:

64-bit Enhanced Content Patch - Adds exclusive features such as higher resolution textures and objects as well as increased viewing distances in some cases. 64-bit Upgrade Patch required. Game may exit may to desktop on Rebellion level near lighthouse. Finish the fragment using the 32-bit binary - saves are cross compatible.

When I reach this lighthouse, I'll need the 32-bit version. Have you guys needed it to? Will I have to do a fresh install of the game just to finish the game?

There are two x64 patches. The content patch is optional. The first patch creates a separate folder in your game directory (it has x64 in the name), which contains x64 executable. You have to launch it manually or tell Steam to launch it.

Oh, cool. So when I reach the Lighthouse, all I have to do is launch the game via the x32 executable. That answers one of my questions.

Last couple of times I played through the game I used 64 bit executable all the way through and it was way more stable on my PC than the 32 bit one.

The content patch adds different new textures, but that could lead to some graphical issues. Like, it adds a cool new gravel beach texture for a few levels in the midgame, and it looks cool and adds some visual diversity, but they didn’t add a lower resolution variant for long distance, so you will see a sandy beach turn into a gravel beach before your eyes as you approach it.
