You realise how old this game is right? (2004). Its not going to get that kind of support on steam.

However all is not lost, there are some mods on modsdb.

Now I have not tried any of these far cry mods myself (though I do use the site for mods for other games, like sins of a solar empire).

This game was never initially released on UPlay/Ubisoft Connect. Yes, it is on the service, but when you buy the game on Steam, you are playing it THROUGH steam, no Ubisoft Connect launcher required, it doesn't link to your Ubisoft account.
