Far Cry (original) cheats don't work

I just bought the Steam edition for Windows 10 at the summer sale. Game runs fine but my old-ass can't have much fun without Godmode. Console comand god_mode_count=1 doesn't work.
Nor does the DevMode.lua trick work. I'm unable to add the -devmode parameter to target line. Did Steam gimp these or am I doing something wrong?

Righight-click on the game under the Library in the Steam client and select Properties.
Under the General tab click the "Set launch options..." button to add -devmode.

The console command is #god=1, not god_mode_count=1.

Do you enjoy the game using God mode? This is a 75% distract and stealth game, not run & gun.

I prefer run and gun. I'm an old geezer and have no time for stealth.

Broken crappy stealth that doesn't work half the time before the Neutron Star annihilating enemies with their floppy weiners and lazer aim put a giant smoking crater between your eyes for daring to breathe on a leaf of grass.

how do you find the DevMode file to add the Godmode script in windows 10

God mode works but how do I get the DevMode file to add the script and how do I fly and use third person etc.

Doesn't matter what OS. "devmode.lua" is in the main folder or do a search.

Open devmode.lua with notepad. At the bottom look for the godmode script. If it's not there add it. You can find it in this forum and elsewhere. Backspace is instant godmode.
