problem with Windows 7 and Far cry

i haven't the game from steam , but from an old pc dvd-rom box. I would really want to play at this game but i'm afraid to having textures glitches after have installed it, because the game normally cannot correctly works in a modern pc. and i cannot download the 64 patch because those idiots of crytek have removed it from their official site. Anyone know a good way to run FC perfectly from my Window 7 Professionnal ? do not say to me to buy FC from Steam, because i live in France and i really like the FR voices of the characters.

sorry to say this but far cry will never run perfectly, you can type far cry to pcgamingwiki they have a lot of advices to make it better but it will never be perfect. Ubisoft doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ and they must be punished for that ! the lattest official version is 1.40 and it is broken !! (ennemy AI, other problems...)
the steam version have the french voice acting though ;)

Stay away from the 1.4 patch. It ruined the game. Just get the AMD64 patches (there are 2) which patches the game to 1.32.

However you should still keep Patch 1.40 somewhere.
FarCry Multiplayer just works for Patch 1.33, 1.40 and altered versions.

I wouldn't install the 64Bit Patch from AMD. Because it's Patch is 1.32, which isn't Supported anymore.

1.4 is useless. The Unofficial 1.41 patch is better than 1.40.
The AMD64 v1.32 patch is the ultimate SP FC version. None of the patches are "supported".
The AMD patches also create a DT shortcut that runs the game independant of STEAM, so you have two games for the price of one with two different EXE's- FC 64bit plus STEAM FC 32bit.

I had been trying everything for the past two days. The cd version had worked fine with the AMD 64 patch until recently. I reinstalled several times trying different fixes. The only thing that worked was removing windows update KB3086255 then reinstalling and using AMD64 patch. System is win7 64 home.

Been trying what for what problem? I have FC on Win 7 64 home and it's OK.
The OS itself is not the culprit, FC runs fine on all OS. There may be OS or vidcard 'settings' that can impact the game negatively, or ingame settings like the ULTRA setting for lighting, frame limiter on/off etc.
Reinstalling is not necessary, didn't change anything, right?
There's plenty of advice on the Forum to get you straightened out, use SEARCH.

Why not just get the steam version and patch with the AMD64 patches? Those old disks could have problems with not only newer OS's but new PC tech.
