There are tons of MODS, mods and levels. MOD: used to change the game in a permanent way. mod: used to chenge the game in a temporary way and usually new story gameplay consisting of multiple levels, new skins, weapons foliage, etc. Devmode.lua does not apply to these, you must make a bat or cmd file to load the MOD with devmode.
level: usually a single map but can proceed to others. Really not a lot of difference to a mod except preference of the maker.
A permanent MOD I use is the SOPMOD MOD which has new weapons added when using the all weapons cheat.
http://crymods.net/news.php "Downloads" is THE place to go for MODS, mods and levels with commentary on each.
Somewhere in this forum I listed a bunch of the really good ones, I'll see if I can locate it.
Here it is: http://steamcommunity.com/app/13520/discussions/0/451848855026538563/
