Far Cry

Steam or GOG edition?
Since I own almost every CryTek game I consider to buy Far cry too. I had a bad experience with the demo, which - when I finally had proper RIG - some reason only give low settings. I know, the demo is old, outdated and not patched.
However, I still find various issues with modern hardware or Win10. DRM other stuff. So, which version is better? Steam or GOG? Or both the same (patched, fixed for mdoern RIGs, etc.)?

Both are fixed for version 1.4. BOth containt eh 64bit "exclusive". I use the Steam version for a matter of convenience.

1.4 does not contain the AMD64 game upgrade patches. AMD 64 adds a 1.32 stand-alone version.

Yep loads of people complain about the lack of 64bit on the steam version (read the upteen I cannot run the game, but also have not bothered to help myself in anyway by reading any thread or trying any fix threads).

Have not tried the gog version, but it sounds like its better, its the same with orgin, they seem to have an extra patch. (its like ea are trying to screw with steam in order to get more business with origin, not that I would ever accuse EA of such a thing to make money, *cough*in game purchases starwars and other ea games pulled from steam*cough*

Steam version has no issues in modern systems whatsoever. Runs perfectly on Windows 10 at native 4k out of the box.
Yes, the demo was broken. The real game works great.

The demo was not 1.4 and therefore was not broken, STEAM and GOG versions are 1.4 and are broken. The game runs great but getting shot through rock is untenable. Need to downgrade to 1.3x.
