LAN servers are restricted to lan addresses
i really need help with this error can somebody help me ?

i am trying to join my friend's server but it saying "LAN servers are restricted to lan addresses".
do you have any help

Well are you on his local network and what addresses are you using?

If you are in different houses, it wont work as LAN mean local Area Network, ie your all in the same building on the same router/switch.

Are you on a real LAN or LAN tunneling? You can either temporarily change your subnet to a local one (starting with 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x), or use one of modified CryNetwork.dll files that remove the restriction, but force you to connect via a console command (\connect [ip]). The latter solution also makes your server joinable via the internet.
