It'd do in a pinch, but it'd still be annoying because the on-screen key notifications would still display the old keys. Not to mention I was really hoping that after playing Ys VIII with auto-hotkey (that was before Durante implemented full key customization, back when movement was still locked to WASD) I wouldn't be needing external tools anymore.
Aaaand, I just got to chapter 2 where the F-key is now hard-locked to returning to your base when on the map screen, turning the map-screen from semi-unusable to completely unusable when using the ESDF-layout. (I know there's an option for mouse control, but I do like being able to navigate menu's using the keys instead of having to move the cursor over buttons, it's often a lot faster)
I hope this can get fixed. I realize the game has a lot of key bindings and was programmed to use a controller, but implementing key rebinding while still keeping certain keys hardcoded to certain functions, especially if those keys aren't stuff like Esc, kinda defeats the purpose.
Well, I hope devs read this and willing to add more optional choices, just like swapping confirm and cancel.
