But once you get to Ch2 it would be much better, since at least you can hold out long with a partner
As far as hits go, first enemies were 1 or 2 shots killing me, first boss 2, Nox enemies 2 or 3 and Nox boss 2. That's with the Celceta/VIII items. So it's not so bad. Did use the 3 Raisins that you get in the prologue, in the Nox. Mostly wondering how the rest of the game will go though.
Still... I'm quite afraid at the lasers one at end of Ch3, the Spider, and especially the Final boss which is really chaotic lol
Another tip is to always dash in fights and try not to jump and air dodge too often. Running around enemies and bosses is a good way to avoid some attacks and you'll kill your forward momentum if you jump and air dodge. Ground dodge maintains forward momentum though.
Probably a lot of other nuances to the mode but really it's best to test out whether it is for you or not, since if you find it too hard you can just change the difficulty in game to something more manageable.
Yes that's quickly been what I ended up doing. Same as other Ys games though.
Honestly, Lunatic isn't that bad if you have any experience with Ys games. Especially Dana. Money flows freely, you can farm Nox for material exchanging. Makes keeping gear up to date rather easy. The game also throws the level elixirs at you. Way more bottles then Dana had and aren't temporary like in inferno on Dana. Outside food, there's no limit to healing items. Even on lunatic it's much easier then Dana.
you spend a lot of time grinding, but it's really worth in the end, if i had to compared to its previous title, that is YS VIII, so far IX feel a bit stronger for 2 or 3 entities mostly bosses, lemures are always the same so their patterns can be learn easely, or maybe it's just me who suck with bosses, but really Vahk medios is on another level, glad it's a side story bosses tho
REminded me of dulan 2 in inferno, dude had no chill

still got PTSD from that, Galbalan was a walk in the park compared to that damn magus
and Chester ... they can go die in hell for the ridiculous amount of skill you need to survive their fight ... unless you get lucky and they don't start spamming their stuff

For Galbalan the worst case is 2nd phase, where if bad RNG you gotta deal with Fireball + Fire Wave at the same time, which should eat your HP like hell.
For Chester 2 his 2nd phase is totally RNG so he could've decided to stay teleporting for a while before using charge attacks, which is kind of a D move when you have limited mana. But again, fighting him is much more fun than dealing with the sh** from Galbalan 2nd phase or Istersiva.
but chester 2nd's phase as always fun to me, challenging and yeah as you said, RNG based, hence why you try to keep your HP pool up and pray you don't need to empty your mana with flash guards x)
I've been reviving 1-3 times using foods depending on the boss/nox. Trying to keep it at one revive but some bosses are more annoying than others. Normal heals are pointless though.
I've not been grinding except before the ch3 cage boss a little to round up the levels, and to gather some extra nox for exchanges. Didn't use Elixirs yet either, keeping them for later. Not sure +100HP helps much anyway going forward.
Looking forward to the rest, loving the difficulty and the chaotic full moon noxes!
