Total Game Time.
By doing everything I could and missing stuff (because I missed around 2% of the map and some treasures while I had all dungeons and areas at 100% and with all treasures which means I probably missed a side event that would lead me where I needed to go, I still spent around 50 hours in this game.
Frankly, it's awesome. After you understand that this game decided to go with a more Gothic vibe and you notice that all the vibrance we miss on this game compared to Lacrimosa of Dana, it's inserted on the models (every single character, boss, enemy and final boss are just awesome and more memorable than the Lacrimosa ones).

In the end I loved this experience and this game made me feel invested way quickly into the story than the last one. I will play more of it in a later date, I think I need some time to diggest this plot, the fact that this game has no opening animation and the fact that I missed that 100% completion status on my first playthrough by so little, which makes me really annoyed. But I need to work, so yeah.

Anyway, remember to always take reviewers game time with a grain of salt. They try to check most of the game and in the end they only make half of it just to write a quick review of the game. It makes no sense to be an YS fan and not want to a 100% the game anyway so good luck guys, this one will be way more difficult than Dana's game.

Side Note: Azure Petal's are not one person talking to Adol through possession, remember that.

Abour side note - is there a list of characters anywhere? My Ys knowledge is quite limited, since I've started with 8, and thus I thought it was Dana speaking to us the whole time.
Didn't finish the game yet, just started the final chapter.

Exploration is not missable. There is no area bound to a side or main quest.

If you're talking about the blue petals, that's not it.

The words by the blue petals are roughly the words of the winged people who are treated as gods in Ys,
or something close to it,
beings that Adol has encountered in his past adventures.

Is Dana in it or not?
That's about it.

Then there's a way to access the water well, the path to hidden treasure and the dungeon in the Dandelion's basement without doing all the quests in Saradhi's quest line? All three of the quests she's involved in open optional areas that are required for 100% map completion.

Go to the well at the farm and enter it. The same in dandelions. Go inside saradhis room and click on the door (entrance). Dont know which hidden treasure you mean but im pretty sure you can just go there and enter it.

But I think you just misunderstood me. I mean, you need to complete the quest but after the quest you are free to enter the dungeons anytime. So, even you missed 0.1% in that dungeons you are able to enter it.

No, you're the one misunderstanding OP. OP said they missed 2% possibly due to sidequests. Three areas require sidequests to become accessible. You are correct that they remain accessible later, but if their quests were missed, they aren't accessible via other means.

And no, you can't just go in and enter the path to hidden treasure outside the sidequest. It requires Raging Bull's gift to unlock. The game prevents you from using it there (in the quest she busts it open in a cutscene). You can't use Third Eye in the Dandelion's basement to find the hidden door there if you missed Saradhi's chapter 5 quest and that doesn't isn't magically open for you because the quest is needed for her to open the door up for you. Without the quest, Saradhi doesn't get access to the basement to find the door and open it. So yes, map completion can be missed if you miss quests since that blocks access to areas that count towards 100%. It's not the sort of missable that if you miss a chest you can't go back, it's the sort of missable that if you miss X quest, you don't visit the area.

So its exactly what I said it is. Its about 35 hours long unless you want to waste time doing busy work. The game should have been $40.

Im close to 40h and did everything on nightmare. Only thing im missing are some material drops, so maybe 1-2 more hours.
