Or just meet Arche and exchange them from Aromatic Lumber instead.
I guess this works.
Stumps not dropping T2 lumber feels like a bug imo.
In any case spending shards is also a quicker option. Easier and faster to farm, just gotta anticipate before a chapter ends.
Nevertheless, around the first 4 chapters you can be tight on money since there are armors, weapons and accessories to take care of first. Of course you can grind the outfield but to a certain limit (since the Ogres field onward is much better). That being said, I had no trouble with Spirit Lumber during the first Hard playthrough, but those Crimson ores instead, leading to I had to skip some +2 upgrades.
I guess another option would be redoing easy Grimwald Nox(s), some take just a minute the first time you do them so they can't be very long when you're higher level.
That's why from chapter 5 onward I started to get 999 Noxes before moving to the next chapter, thus around 5000+ shards in the end. That being said, final weapons and armors in the last chapter did cost me a great amount down to 2994 in terms of materials, also trying to obtain all possible accessories, plus couple extras for the whole team can be costly too (thus I failed to get 1 mil gold in the end). Thanks to that, I don't have to spend time grinding for them again in Lunatic, just follow - only equip possible gears & accessories, skills and upgrades in that chapter - and I'm great.
Edit: And redoing Grimwald Nox is not that effective in getting mats against buying them with Twilight shards or money, especially on Lunatic since you can still be wiped out easily if not focus. Though I suppose you could try to equip extend FG/FM to make it less troublesome
Sunlit Greenery landmark in Milliane Planes has a bunch of stumps that have Plant droptable. It would also make more sense for those deposits to be flowers rather than stumps. Guess it's the original gamedev oversight though.
