You have the game yourself o0? I just think it's a shame that things aren't finished first but DLC's for skins are more important. #Is my feeling
There shouldn't be a Taxi Life 2. Hear me out. The most successful games on Steam for this kind of genre are hands down either European Truck Simulator (ETS2) or American Truck Simulator (ATS) by SCS Software. Like Taxi Driving sim, they both involve the simple core concept of going somewhere, picking something up and delivering it somewhere else. ETS2 was released in 2012, and ATS in 2016. Both are still releasing annual DLC and both have workshop support with a great modding community. They have multiple community events, rewards etc. and a pretty large player base. For games that are 10+ years old, that's pretty damn impressive, especially for low-key casual games that aren't overly exciting or complicated to play.
They have consistently added different countries (and states) as DLC, have updated graphics, redone parts of the map, added new features, revamped interfaces, etc. through updating the core game instead of releasing a whole new game every 2-3 years. In my opinion, Devs should build upon the foundation of TL and add new content, cities, new cars, new challenges, mod support etc. That's how you keep people invested in, supporting and playing a single game for years.
I have bought almost every single DLC for ATS since I originally bought the game except for a couple paint-scheme packages, and I guarantee you I would never have continued to support the game if they released each country or addon as a separate game. I daresay that would be popular opinion among players of TL. TL is a great game. It still needs work obviously because of bugs, goofy pedestrian animations/graphics and AI etc. But it's a hell of a fun, challenging, casual game. I hope it gets bigger and better instead of replaced.
