traffic signals are that important?
I read something and watched some videos where they say following traffic signals will make you avoid the police from fining you, or the passengers from getting angry and paying you less. That would be so good if ALL real life signals were mandatory because it would be more realistic as obviously it is in real life, that's why it's called simulator after all.

But is this that important on this game?
I've already seen some players NOT following some of these signals (just like white lines from road or "no overtaking" etc) and nothing happened to them. Maybe police cars weren't there on that moment and passengers didnt even bother about that, but still i am worried about the fact that you have to follow just BASIC traffic signals: for example: traffic lights and turning on the indicators to go to left/ right and that's all. ´
In City car driving you have all the traffic signals rules, just to put an example on the table.

It would be so bad if we dont have all the signals rules on this game.

Remember : This is a video game. As such, even with a simulator purpose, there are rules to make it good : it has to be exigeant AND fun. So, it would not be the smartest thing to make all the signs effective, as some might be fun killers or would complexify too much the IA exigences (making the game unplayable / buggy as hell / impossible to make)

The right recipe is a fair decent amount of realness and smart gameplay mechanics

Yep that's true.
Anyway I mean: on City car driving game you have to follow all the rules and it's still a funny game. And same happens with Euro truck simulator (not as many as the previous game but still you lose money if you break these traffic road rules). And both games are fun.

I understand that its hard to make a 100% realistic game on this case and it would be probably boring at some point but still it would be a great idea that you have to follow ALL real life rules AND you might break these road rules when, for example, car police are not there or you dont have passengers because then none see your traffic violations.
Still passengers might tell you something like: "please, be faster" which is something it's already implemented, so instead of going 30Km/h you have to speed up a little bit (35 km/h or so).

I can't say about City car driving but if i recall it was meant to be a tool to progress for the driving licence students, right ?
As for ETS which i played for years, it was far from having "all" the road signs rules. (really far, i'd say)
I think we should just wait to know what's the vision of road simulation here and give it a go or not, according to our personal expectations.

I agree. We should probably wait until it gets released.
About ETS, yep it's true that it hasn't a lot of road rules.
Actually i was more refering to City car driving. And yeah, i think it was made for students licence, but still it was a really good simulator but missions were boring, of course.

That's a bit disappointing. Of course @Wildust is right about a game needing a proper balance between fun and realism, but this ratio varies among players (and the hardware they possess). Enforcing more traffic laws could have been a player option.

@lentille we don't know yet what it's made of. Maybe there will be tons of signs. For now, we were told the AI behavior will be one of the core feature by its complexity and random variations. And it's probably a hell of a work to do that with a full road rulebook integrated to it (if not delusionnal)

So guys, did you already try the game? :D
is it worth it?

Penalities immediately for :
1) not obeying the traffic light signal
2) for damaging other cars and
3) got catch by speed camera
would be very challenging enough.
