The game is painfully average.
The idea is good, but execution is average.
Some things are just menial(manually telling people to stop healing when they are full, because they won't stop themselves).
Extremely repeatable missions. Boring combat.
Reminds me of Populos, but without anything that made it good.
Game introduces people of color/mixed society and tells us that this is from a small, secluded northen clan that never goes out anywhere and isn't being visited by anyone, there is no suspension of disbelief here or any lore explanation for that, you're supposed to take it at face value, because it is a checkbox that gives ESG score point.
Game is lackluster in my opinion. However...
So does including races make it better? Hmm.
If they just kept the demo up, anyone could probably have seen for themselves some certain shortcomings in the game. I probably wouldn't have bothered to buy this game had the demo been kept up, so there is probably a reason why the demo wasn't kept around for others to sample.
To be honest, haven't gotten that far yet. Right now it's a micro-management simulator that I am considering refunding.
Thanks for the kind response.
That's the big problem I have with the media/Hollywood and developers. Diversity to them just means black. Asian for them don't exist, its just white or black.
- Poor UI functionality
- Missing UI features like basic worker/job panels
- Almost zero automation / basic villager intelligence (literally everything has to be micro'd or villagers become useless eaters)
- Poor unit pathing
- Selecting a single unit, like a scout, automatically opens their character panel, which then hides the minimap from view, making scouting runs for loot marked on said minimap a headache
- Mushy combat
- Error crashes on the 'start game' screen (for me at least)
- A hundred other minor issues that feel very 'alpha phase', problems that might not be annoying if all the others issues weren't so aggravating, but alas..
