A gord is a medieval Slavonic fortified settlement
just go delete your comment so you dont come off as a dumb inbred moleman

Because a game about Gordon would make all the Freemans giggle.
Right? All of a sudden everyone is an expert on medieval Slavic terminology. Otherwise you're an uncultured ignorant swine.
Or maybe, this is the ENGLISH steam forum, where people who speak ENGLISH write messages in ENGLISH. And most ENGLISH speaking people know the name Gord as short for Gordon, not some stupid old slavic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ word.
Nonsense comment? What does this have to do with anything?
Because language is developing over time. Like english. British-english, usa-english, australien-english. In the past, everything comes from Great Britian, but everything go his own way.
------
"The sequel will be Fred, and the trilogy will be rounded out by Ralph."
By the way, it doesn't show great intellect to make fun of things you don't understand. Ask for: Why Gord, okay. But at the same time "lol, next is Fred and Ralph! omfgrofl." But this is just my opinion.
Sad. Ignore much history in europe and got angry because of the short version of Gordon? You know, some names are old, very old and nobody knew the origin? Would be not a surprise if the name Gordon had a connection to "Gord / Grod". Do you want to learn something or do you just want to troll? Why do people ask for something and waste time for posting like this. Use google or a libary if you don't believe other people here at steam, but don't unkind then and don't act respectless like you do.
Btw: USA, Great Britian, Kana, Australia - Native english speaker, all other countries use it, because it's accepted to communicate with english. Don't think, because everyone is using english here, are native speaker or use it, because they like it.
What do you think that 99% of people who see a game named "Gord" are going to do? Do you think they'll say "oh, by Jove, I should go google the meaning of this word because maybe it means something very specific in a dead language"?
Or are they going to do the exact same thing I did, and think "that's a stupid name for a game...". Because, you know, exactly the same word as a person's name. The title of the game is supposed to attract customers, and I can promise you that "Gord" isn't going to attract many customers.
Maybe I'm wrong and it'll be the next big smash Steam success! Or, much more likely, its stupid name will kill any momentum it could have gotten and in 3 weeks the concurrent players will be sub-100.
I guess we'll be back here in about a month to find out.
You wrote "stupid old Slavic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ word." Do you have any issues with Slavic culture?
