I dislike the cartoon look and thinking that you have to appeal to modern standards(by whose definition??) and make it cartoonish looking just sounds bad. It sounds very...excuse-ish and that you weren't able to replicate the realistic style. Its okay to not be able to do something, but don't say you did it because modern culture demands it, or that you did not have access to the original sources. That's not a valid excuse or reason at all. Sadly, I don't think you even care since you went into the project knowing this. It will take a flop for you to see, so thanks for taking a beloved franchise and altering it because you couldn't be bothered to ask for help.
Sorry, but I can't immerse myself with cartoonish graphics.
Could there be an option to have the original graphics?
Now when you decided to give walker lower angle and show their 'identical face', it make the game look cheap and immersion breaking, like looking at a doll house instead of a city with real people.
2. Another thing I hate about the new walker is their walking speed/sprite. Their walking speed and their walking animation doesn't syn and create the feeling that these walker aren't actually walking, but are some animatronic on rail.
Another way to say it is that the walking animation is too smooth. People don't walk at constant speed but speed up and down for each step. In the original the sprite move at low FPS and stutter, which create a illusion of 'walking speed' from that stuttering.
However in this remake the much higher FPS make the smoothness of the walker look kindna fake, I hope the walker animation cycle can be adjust to fix this.
3. One last thing, I found that lowering the outline thickness of building has negative consequence with the building depth perception in isometric view.
I'm quite surprised at how badly you misjudged your own heritage and the mood of your fan base.
Well looks like somebody didn't keep their promise
I used to watch others play this game when I was 4 y.o. and it fascinated me a lot, even if I had no chance to play it for myself.
Then after around 25 years later I again discovered the old game and realized that's an old game from my super early childhood and really liked playing it even with the crappy sprites.
Maybe because it is an altar of Anubis, like when u add the altar and oracle to the temple complex
Can the demo be available again please?
