You can speed up the game to 5x. Then each year is like less than a minute

I found this very frustraring as well, 40 a year is way too slow.

Keeping Ra happy sometimes makes him doubles the incoming trade, including plain stone. Sometimes I got gifted x ammount of extra plain stones, not sure what causes this because I failed to read why but I suspect it's because of a high kingdom rating/fullfilling requests instantly. Ptahs big temple has an extra thingy you can buy that suppose to speed up monument building but I didn't notice any change. I ended up speeding at 5x indeed.

@Ribys ; If presented a choice is there a way you can tell which is the military champaign?

That's because the building window for the temple complex phrases it wrong. The Altar of Amun doesn't speed up monument construction directly, it speeds up production of building materials (bricks, wood, all kinds of stone). So if you don't produce those yourself but build your monument on imports, the altar does nothing indeed.

Dont't you get plenty of gifts of stone for completing requests. Still with we had monument speedup.

Ah thank you for clearing this up and good to know ^^
I don't like this as well but I know it is like this since OG, BUT this is remake so it does not have to be too faithful to everything OG. I think devs should at least increase import stone amount x2 or x3, make players less suffered. It is not fun when you finish everything but have to wait for monument, even X5 speed feel too long.

It's a pyramid. It's meant to take forever not a weekend. It doens't bother me and you can build them REALLY fast by with the x5. Learn to optimize your imports (avoid ship queues) and make sure the pharaoh gives you all the gifts and also that Ra god is happy.

This.
Import your stones ASAP... micro your storage yards and docks to fast up the pyramid construction

I use https://pharaoh.heavengames.com/ to show prerequisites for some missions if they are military or they are peaceful and also show some city layouts

Nobody's sure exactly how long it took to build the pyramids, but apparently the Egyptians told Herodotus that it took 100,000 men 20 years to build the Great Pyramid at Giza. There are 2.3 million individual blocks of stone in the Great Pyramid, meaning that if Herodotus's sources were correct, they would have to lay on average one 2-ton block every five minutes, 24 hours a day, for the entire 20 years. In the case of the Great Pyramid, the 'plain stone' (less-shiny limestone) was quarried nearby, but the white limestone had to be transported from across the Nile, and 375 million pounds of pinkish granite had to be hauled in from over 500 miles away.

Of course, archaeologists think now that a lot of the stone was transported via water all the way up to the pyramid itself. That is, the Egyptians dug canals from the Nile all the way to the construction site and then floated the stone right up to where it was supposed to go, unlike in the game. So workers only had to haul stone from the quarry to the boat, then directly from the boat onto the pyramid.

Anyway, the pyramid you're building in the North Dahshur mission is the Red Pyramid, whose construction in real life took somewhere between 10-17 years. So to be realistic, they should be receiving a bit more than 40 stones a year.

I know this was in Original but i don´t somehow it was faster than this. Along with one dock bug its currently no fun and i have to wait and wait to get some stones.
