Keeping Ra happy sometimes makes him doubles the incoming trade, including plain stone. Sometimes I got gifted x ammount of extra plain stones, not sure what causes this because I failed to read why but I suspect it's because of a high kingdom rating/fullfilling requests instantly. Ptahs big temple has an extra thingy you can buy that suppose to speed up monument building but I didn't notice any change. I ended up speeding at 5x indeed.
@Ribys ; If presented a choice is there a way you can tell which is the military champaign?
That's because the building window for the temple complex phrases it wrong. The Altar of Amun doesn't speed up monument construction directly, it speeds up production of building materials (bricks, wood, all kinds of stone). So if you don't produce those yourself but build your monument on imports, the altar does nothing indeed.
Ah thank you for clearing this up and good to know ^^
Import your stones ASAP... micro your storage yards and docks to fast up the pyramid construction
Of course, archaeologists think now that a lot of the stone was transported via water all the way up to the pyramid itself. That is, the Egyptians dug canals from the Nile all the way to the construction site and then floated the stone right up to where it was supposed to go, unlike in the game. So workers only had to haul stone from the quarry to the boat, then directly from the boat onto the pyramid.
Anyway, the pyramid you're building in the North Dahshur mission is the Red Pyramid, whose construction in real life took somewhere between 10-17 years. So to be realistic, they should be receiving a bit more than 40 stones a year.
