South Dahshur plain stone piramid takes forever?
The plain stone pyramid (South Dahshur) is getting build one stone at the time , literally!
Import is set to mainting 500 (I tried different things, I rebuild the dock etc)
At this pace it will take 6000 years to finish.

I'm starting to think you are not ment to start the build as soon as possible but rather import all materials first?

The trader ship from Meidum always carriers zero plain stones, yet dumps one in my storage anyway (just 1 unit). On the trade map Meidum often has zero of very low stones to trade.

Also

Workers 'sink' into the moment when walking on it, animations are borked

I saw some carpenters disappeared into thin air when arriving at the storage yard to fetch wood

I am not sure i can explain this well enough, but when you check the map it tells you how much of blah blah blah they can sell and buy from you... You should note if you are buying from a land route or a water route. (especially now since the docks are bugged with only one able to work at a time.) if its a land route, then check to see where the villagers are coming in from, that's where your guy will come.. if you are wanting, building matarials for a monument this is where you should place the storage yard that will receive them.. the shortest route is the best for gathering. When you can only get like 25 each year for a project.. you want to make their walking distance the least it can be.. You also don't want to buy much other form them, as they can only hold so much in their packs, or boats. so if you buying other stuff from them, it limits what they can bring you since they can only carry/ hold so much.. does that make sense.. did I say it right?

Yes very clear , thank you for the tips!
I made the mistake of building the pyramid quite a distant from the docks storage yards. lesson learned ;)

Normally, if you build more docks, does that mean more ships will come? (from the same trader) thus importing more/faster of the same goods?

Most of these missions greatly encourage me to do everything in my power to keep my prosperity and kingdom rating high.

When you can't produce the resource yourself, it is often possible to receive a load of it through gifts.

If you can build a temple complex to Ptah, definitely do so, helps a great deal with monument construction.

Thank you Quimoth for the tip. Ptah seems to not give building materials though? Just pottery, linen, jewelry etc

For others wanting to know:
The second stage (top layers) of this pyramid went quicker because the masons seemed to have horded some of that plain stone

The Temple complex to Ptah does have the Altar of Amon to activate, which suppose to speed up monument building

Keep Ra pleased and he sometimes give a blessing that doubles the trade for a while, which helps in this case

it doesnt matter what you do. medium doesnt sell more stone, they send empty ships if i dont trade the other stuff with them. i see ships with 400 stone in them sometimes and they just dont unload it, ever, and o
its not because of storage yards either. i think it is this way so you need to sustain your city for a long period. so you have to build an army to maintain reputation all that stuf.

If ti says 400 stone on the ship, this is the amount they selled you. If the ships enters the map, all figures are 0.

And Medium I completed some hours ago. Yeah, the stone was a pita, but 40 stoneproducers had done the trick (and 5 times speed).

Btw I had no problems to care of all (over 6.000 pop (way to much but I needed the workers, becaus I made an elitist houseblock), 2 and 2 forts, and about 200k debens in the bank at ending).

Just like in the old game sometimes you need to destroy your dock and rebuild it to fix this situation when trading ships wouldn't sell Plain Stone or any other product.

In this mission it is crucial to optimize trading and docks. have a dock dedicated to stone and a storage yard just beside it. and other trading items should be optimized in this way too because the merchant who sell you stone will also buy and sell other thing. If the ship gets stuck then it will never deliver the promised 40 stones. I took a while to manage it (at first I was getting like 20 stones a year). It will still take a long time but that's why you have a x5 fast forward in the game (also; you're in for a treat for the next mission if you didn't like this one...). Took me a few hours to complete the mission (finishing the monument took like 20 minutes); but it's a game that requires time anyway.

500 stones means actually 5; it's a display bug.

You can buy as much as you want as long as they're not held on the docks. If their trip is quick they will just be able to deliver the quantity you need since they spam pretty much in a loop.

apparently there is a bug on this map somehow..... the trading ship from Meidum will be stuck at the dock and keep showing heading to the city. then when you delete the dock, the ship is still there but it will change to returning to their city. .... I'm playing this map and Meidum is the only source of plain stone..... oh, no ,Pharaoh's gift as well... but no sure when Pharaoh will be happy to send me the plain stone I need.

Make Dock, make sure it trades Stone, but everything else is Dont Trade. Put a Storage Yard next to it, make it Accept All Stone, but everything else is Accept None.

Make sure no other Dock is trading stone. Also make sure no other Storage Yard accepts Stone.
Set Stone to import, maintaining about 300.

Near where your pyramid is, have a bunch Storage Yards that only hold Stone. Set them to Get All.

the best tip is to make sure you've got plenty storage yards to accept bought good directly next to the dock. If you need to sell, try to have the sold-goods yards next to those (they can be a little farther away). Sold good yards can have the "get X" option enabled to make sure they always have 1/4-full inventory to sell.

Sometimes ships get stuck at the docks, I am not sure if this was due to save that was corrupted or something else. The only way to resolve that is to destroy and rebuild the docks.

Ra and the pharaoh are often the 2 most important ways to help you obtain more resources for your monument. Double the trade and pharaohs gift are the only ways to speed up monuments relying on imported stones.
