The biggest problem is I can't reach the needed culture level because I have to import papyrus and the ship trading this good is stuck :(
1)Ship looks for the closest dock it can buy/sell something.
2)It goes to that dock, the dock sends out workers to buy/sell whatever it sells. The ship has to wait for the dock worker, so its bad if it has to walk very far.
3)Once its done, repeat steps with the next closest dock, but it will not buy/sell something it has already bought/sold in previous docks. If no other dock is sell/buying something new, it will leave the city.
Keeping this behavior in mind, the best way to set it up is a Dock buy/sells nothing by default, and putting Storage Yards next to it, which can only Accept or Get the goods the Dock is Buying/Selling.
Once a dock is buying/selling more than about 3 different goods, I make another Dock to trade other goods.
I've not encountered any issues trading with Docks so far once I figured this out. Not sure if it makes a difference: using Global Worker Pool.
In some mission the dock is already built. The goods are usually set to no trade and you have to change this.
What I sometimes forget is to accept food in a warehouse. Otherwise it can't be traded and the ships are waiting in a queue.
It is a little bit tricky and lot of management but now it works fine for me.
I had the same problem too
Another thing is to have a storage yard close to your export production set to "accept good" and one in your dock set to "fill" (up to... if you have several goods you want to trade). same thing in reverse for thing you import; the dock storage yard is set top "accept"; the storage yard next to your production / monument is set top "fill". this way the storage worker will get the goods in advance from other storage yard and the wait will be minimal.
I also have bugs with ships, by resuming an old save I succeeded to save a ship but not all.
They don't want to sell beer or jewelry, so my mission is blocked
In 150 hours of play, I have never had a problem.
I assume that you do not build buffer warehouses close to the Port for quick loading and unloading of Ships.
Because of this, the Porters begin to walk all over the map, where trouble befalls them, and strange problems begin with the Ships.
I looked at my walkthrough On.
I have 5 Ports on 5 islands.
Everyone sells a separate product, no problem.
Do competent logistics and everything will work.
