So im on Selma (i know how to play), but i can't figure out how to import food (sounds crazy i know). In selma you can only produce meat, ive turned off all other food in markets. Built 2 new food storage that one only excepts fish the other only excepts peas i have like 4 storage areas that are empty as well waited 2 years and havent received any food. I've noticed this in other maps but just assumed that the markets were selling the food i was suppose buying. I'm thinking its a bug. So started a new family and did the same thing at a much earlier map and got the same results

I dont understand how whole trade systems works here, i set every possible food in "overseer commernce" as importing when needed(same happens even when maintaing), set all bazaars to buy every type of food, build granarys and storage yards... after that half of the city just left, and i still havent got food from trade, same for the bricks and wood

Food storage you mean granary or storage yard with only food allowed? Water (dock?) or land trade? As far as I have noticed traders deliver food items only to storage yards. Idk is it a bug, I have some hours played and never had problems with trade.

In Grainary you can not import food.
Only warehouses accepts imports and exports.

So build a warehause, set it to fish and start importing.

This is even mentioned in the tutorial somewhere.

Additionally, I would not use 'import when needed' but set a fixed amount. If you want to use granaries for imported food, they need to be set to GET while another storage yard is set to ACCEPT. But as Phillip said, storage yards are the primary way to make imported food types accesible to market ladies.
