Yep, my i5 is practically archaic and it doesn't run at more than 30-40% load when playing.
Check your computers.
PS: Actually, the minimum requirements aren't right. The game can run on a potato.
It's just that the game doesn't have a demo, so just by the requirements described on the steam page I was in doubt if my computer would handle it, since it is informed cpus of great power. Even because many other users must have this doubt and avoid buying it because they believe they will not be able to play.
it's not as simple as they say. first launch of this game - no lags.
after completing 11 missions in a row, the game began to load 16 gigabytes of RAM. the game save file began to weigh 1.5-2 gigabytes on an empty field without buildings.
when the city is built i can't save the game.
saving the game lasts 3-7 minutes.
But the worst thing is that saving the file with the rebuilt city in 70% is corrupted
The game is not optimized, so the system requirements are high
Can you report this to the developers? Sounds pretty serious to me. I will not play a game, that can't be saved and loaded.
The minspec did catch my eye though and lead to me decompiling the game to see how it works internally. I found extreme naivete in the implementation of walkers and other game elements, it's architected the same way you would do any character action game, not so much a strategy or city builder.
All that said, "Modern" (read: cpus from the past decade) carry it, it could be significantly optimised with a bit of work, but you should be fine.
I've read complaints about even 11th gen i5 being used at 80% mid/late game. Can you confirm a possibility of such problem? When you go further into campaign, maps and cities grow bigger, can it cause a significant use of CPU? Maybe somebody else had such problem?
I want to build huge cities, and such game must run them very easy. I don't want any surprises after 20+ hours of gameplay that will basically kill the game for me.
I have almost 10 hours of gameplay accumulated and I just finished Meidum and the FPS has dropped to +30 fps (from 60 fps with small to medium size cities). My cities are large and I have lots and lots of drones. My CPU is 12 years old (AMD Phenom II x6 1090T) which aligns with the minimum requirements. Any modern CPU should have no problem to run this game smoothly.
