For me that is much a worse decision as a "marry whoever you want". As we are not at a challenge there should be different speeds available.

Maybe you can add a button: Don´t allow same gender marriage as some people don´t feel flirty for same gender. That is also their decision which should be respected like same gender marriage.

We don´t need to like what others are doing and we don´t need to talk hours about it, but we should respect the person and their decisions. To deal with happy and free people is in general always better as living with frustated and negative people under life-pressure because being themselves is not allowed. We are not in the middleage any longer were it was necessary for a village to have as much Babys as possible.

Even kids without parents have in an open-minded society a higher chance of being adopted and a good life, because most cis-people prefer own kids instead of adopting "older Kids".

Dating is already a specific choice. Aside from JiYue who is just playfully flirty with everyone, YOU have to craft a specific item to make your romantic interest known, and then the marriage ceremony after that. You have to go out of your way to even see same-sex romance content.

Ah okay, so people are complaining about nothing which doesn´t affect them in any way.

Well as I wrote I wasn´t really at this part of the game (I think once in very EA by mistake with Linde because he loves every girl very fast xD), but I know it is common in games with marriage-aspect that you need first to buy a present and afterwards a ring. There are also items for divorce xD.

In some games you can even send your pets away forever by giving them the "last meatball before adoption".

If you find it so annoying that they spent time on this, maybe next time, we as straight people, can ask for gay relationships only. To save development time/resources or whatever the fake concern is. Or is it just homophobia and hating equal rights/anti-wokeism as usual and not actually valid complaints? (jk, I know it is)

Eh, I think it is more people concerned it will turn out like Rune Factory 5 which did it horribly and basically forced you into relationships with everyone. The original game didn't have it, then they added same-sex relationships when bringing it to the west and it was rough. Not only did it screw with the localization but it also had a direct negative impact on gameplay because of multi-day forced cutscenes in common areas like shops and stuff. It was bad bad.

On the flip side, people aren't obligated to agree with and support anyone's chocies in life. Throwing around the word homophobia for every basic disagreement about gay representation really does water down the impact of it. Save that for actual real life violence against gay people instead of people voicing their criticisms on a video game board.
