Fetch Quests items not found

I have has several quests when triggered to find lost items at the Guild they item is not there. I have looked everywhere and nothing. There is no way to delete the quest and having a quest unfinished drives me crazy lol. Anyone else have this issue?

Yeah I almost always find the items either at the library or the restaurant instead. I always look all 3 places.

Almost a year later and this bug is still in the game.
I also had a quest to find a lost wallet at the guild, that I couldn't find. I waited several days and also restarted the game. First I thought that the quest is maybe blocked due to main quest of the 2nd year (Herman) - but the tip to look at other places helped: I found the lost wallet behind the restaurant.
