Mosaic is a pain in the ass that has been forced by the government onto their citizens. I already own the English hardcopy for Evencil 1 and I will not support a mosaic version. Despite that I have no problem if they offer an option to turn mosaic on/off in the game. As a side note, Frontwing had to learn it the hard way and now releases their stuff mosaic free in the west.

Mosaic = No buy (Pirated at best).

I don't mind mosaic, but this is really, really bad logic. That's like saying that removing someone's mask is the same as masking them up. Censorship isn't simply defined by the Western version being different than the Japanese version, it has to differ from the different version in particular ways. Otherwise, reducing the file size with better optimization would count as censorship or adding new control schemes would count as censorship.

Under that logic, changing the japanese text for english one is also censorship and should not be allowed.

Also, there first one have an option to choose between the mosaic-ed CGS and the mosaic free ones. So, having both is always an option.

Exactly, that's why everyone should just learn japanese instead. Putting english text instead of japanese is censhorship and completely different experience.

Yeah, honestly so much this. I know i made this thread ironically, but on serious note demosaic pics quality usually just varies from awkward to utter garbage. There are some decent ones like in nanairo or totono, but usually it's just not worth it honestly.

Censorship is dependent on the reason why the change occurred, politics, morality, outside pressure. The original game with mosaics is the censored version, censored for legal reasons that are a combination of politics and morals. They aren't using mosaics for artistic reasons.

If you watch anime that in the tv version its covered woth whatever but in the UNCENSORED version its not that means its censored since they removed whatever whas in the way from others seeing explicit parts? Or if an anime, has a direct cut version, and they redraw certain moments (re zero is a good exemple) thoes this mean for you that the director cut is censored because they redraw part for better quality so people cab enjoy it more? You do realize there is an immense amount of "weeb content" that has had official releases in the west without any censorship yeah? This might shock you but there's actually more officially released uncensored adult japanese media in the west than there is officially released censored japanese adult media in the west. Western publishers have been licensing censored japanese media since the 90's and bringing it over completely uncensored. It's actually a relatively recent (past 6 years) change that companies are bringing over censored titles and not publishing them uncensored.
