Too long, too difficult.
Near the anniversary of 1 year without playing the game, I decided to play it again.

I never found out where to go. The game is not linear enough. It's good to be open world, but not to the point where you have NO IDEA WHERE TO GO. Yes I know there is a map, but it is terrible.

Is there a difficulty setting? I had 0 problems with difficulty in Sands of Time, only a few problems with difficulty in The Two Thrones, but in WW it's just IMPOSSIBLE...I never got past the area where the big guy throws junk at you causing AoE damage. And yes, I had like 5 or 6 life upgrades at that point.

It's just so annoying. I regret getting this dumb game. Sands of Time and Two Thrones are so much better.

It's a shame because I love the gothic dark theme WW has. It's my type of ♥♥♥♥. But it just had to be so hard and nonlinear with a terribly bad map. Seriously it's a horrible map. You bring it up, and it shows the surface of the island. That's all. It doesn't show inside, it shows a very un-specific spot of where the Prince is, and a very vague location marker for an objective.

I Played this game on the original PS2 (all the trilogy in fact); platinum twiced and even finished the PSP version! I know the game can be a bit confusing as you can travel between two periods of time that almost look exactly the same, but I always enjoy this game above the others two ( SoT was a great begginning but I feel TT combat options were decreased) but, if all else fails, there´s always Youtube guides when you are stuck :)
You want something that's actually hard get a PS2 and a copy of all the God of War and God of War 2. Play them on Normal and then come back with "It's too hard". Just kidding. Though GoW is far harder than this PoP-WW. Personal opinion, true gamers don't quit and say it's too hard. We just get better at it.

My best suggestion for you is in the way of an old saying. "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again 'til you do".

The only hard part of this game is if you play on hard, get all life upgrades, goto the secret ending and die on the last boss, me and my friend lost the water sword and we were ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Make sure you save ur game well or that last fight is HARD

The difficulty is the beauty of Warrior Within.

REPETITIVE!!
are you drunk kid?.....sands of time and the reboot were the most repetitive games in the series
and yeah keep whining about the difficulty ,backtracking and complex dark themed story that took the game to next level
do you even imagine the massive improvements in this game comparing to sot or TT(which looks and feels like a downgraded version of this game in all means)
that's why we don't deserve a proper sequel to masterpiece like this.....because some kids believe that 1001 nights theme is a lovely happy theme, while in reality if you ever read 1001 nights you'll see many dark themed tales there .

I find the combat to be balanced perfectly. The enemies attack fast (a lot faster than in Sands of Time) but you still get an opportunity to block them. If you make a mistake, you can rewind, but you lose a "sand tank". You can also use these tanks for abilities, but if you use them up for abilities, you might die because you can't rewind when you make a mistake.
The enemies don't die easily unless you use your secondary weapon. Which can break, so you have to pay attention to always kill an enemy before it breaks, because if you don't, then everything will be much harder for you. You need to use the combos, because they do a lot more damage than just the default attack. You can't win this game by mashing the left mouse button.

So it's balanced well. I die sometimes, but it's due to me using the sands too excessively or not being able to block attacks because I made a mistake..

There are different types of enemies that all fight differently (the typical grunt, the ninja girl, knife throwing guy, the crow guy etc..) so you also have to play differently to play them. Bosses also have predictable attacks, which makes for good boss fights, because it's all about learning their attack pattern and how to counter them. And sometimes things get exciting by introducing new attacks in the middle of the boss fight...

I also didn't really have problems with knowing where to go. The clockwork tower or whatever it's called is a little tricky at times, but that's just one part of a pretty long game.

Just played through the trilogy again.
My younger self: Warrior Within is a pain. Least favourite.
My current self: One of the best games I've ever played.

The difficulty is what makes the game great, because once you've mastered the combat, you can breeze through but the game can still bite you. TTT is awful by comparison.

The game is not hard at all. You're probably just playing on a keyboard and mouse. Everyone knows a PS2/PS3/PS4 controller is the way to play it. I can beat POP WW on hard mode without dying once (except for the Dahaka final boss). Also, the game directly tells you where to go because your objective is on the map at all times. Look at it, and the game becomes 9999x easier.

Nope, mate :) I've passed through this game on hard difficulties several times, every time on keyboard and mouse only. Not affecting experience anyhow. I guess, kid here just was not prepared for real old-school hardcore ;)

I beat the game when I was like 10 years old. If you can't beat it now, then you are the problem.

Map is very limited and pretty useless for navigation. The only helpfull thing it can show if you're in right map area or not, but won't show any details of areas like rooms, paths, room/area level layouts, tunels, floors and etc. WW map is more for astetics than practical use. You would mostlly rely on your own memory of areas and locations

Ya, but if you play the game enough the map is memorized, therefore making it easier. You're just bad at the game. End of discussion.

Open world? Are you sure it was this game? The thing to remember is that it's puzzle and combat. The rooms will have camera angle hints and you have to use a combination of parkour skills to make your way to objectives. The free form combat system's designed to use the environment and your enemy to the fullest. Make sure you roll often, block, swing on poles, run up walls and backflip strike. Vaulting and flipping over enemies is limitless fun too. My favourite, jump over, strangle, break neck and steal their sword in 1 movement. It was pretty ahead of it's time in terms of combat, so don't treat it like an old game in that respect/

Man, I have never played SoT. Ever. The first game I've played (in PoP Trilogy) is WW. It is cakewalk on Easy and Normal. I'm currently playing it on hard mode. The executioners are a bit tougher. I don't know how tough Dahaka is gonna be as this is my first time. Here are some tips. I recommend you that you read this reply fully. It will give you an edge in progressing throughout the game.

Tips for Common enemies:-

1. If there is a column, do the column attack. I always love it and it is the best option for me.

2. If there is single enemy (common, not a boss), press E and press C repeatedly. It is the best option if you don't wanna waste health. It's time taking yet failproof.

3. Use double weapons when surrounded by enemies.

4. Run towards a wall and hold R click. Then, when mid-air, L-click to do a strong attack. Works best with double weapons.

5. Don't use cursed weapons. They will take your health with each hit. Search prince of persia warrior within secondary weapons. Click on the Fandom page. It will tell you about secondary weapons.

Special tips for Griffin:-
1. When it lands, slow the time and attack its torso from the side. Don't go towards it's face because you can't damage it there and it can throw you with its paw.

2. When it swoops upon you, aim precision and roll to a side when it comes down.

Special tips for Crowmaster:-

1. Run towards him, press space and L-click twice.

2. Then when he's stunned, attack him four times with left click.

3. Repeat.

Special Tips for Kaileena (First battle):-

1. When the cutscene finishes, quickly do the first step of crowmaster. Then move away from her as she unleashes a barrage of blows. She may sweep your legs or break your guard with the last attack.

2. Then when her blows are finished, repeat First step.

3. Don't forget to block when she teleports.

4. When she raises sand creatures, do the first step of crowmaster to each twice alternately.

Note:- In second battle with Kaileena, she will use 'Eye of the Storm' power i.e. Slowing Time power.

Special Tips for Shahdee (both battles):-

1. Counter-attacking is the best option as well as 'Run toward her, press space and L-click twice'.

2. In second battle, move away often as she delivers a powerful kick, which may deal a lot damage. Blocking won't help.

Special Tip for Brutes and Thrall:-

Using Eye of the Storm power will help you a ton.

Special Tips for Dahaka:-

1. After cutscene, roll to a side according to your convenience and attack once.

2. Repeat it till Kaileena blasts him with her swords.

3. When he is at the edge, use Ravages of Time Power and attack as much as you can. He dies at this point easily in Easy and Normal mode but I don't know about Hard.

4. If he gets up, you will have repeat the whole process again but this time you will have a hard time getting near him as he shoots tentacles from the ground. So, better keep it in mind.

5. Also, if he gets up, then his health will recover to 3/4.

Again, dear friend, read this reply fully with attention. It will help you tons in progressing. Thanks.
