Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

This game is awful, why do y'all praise it so much
I know that nostalgia can be a powerful thing, but come on. There are so many things about this game that aged like milk, and it's not just the cringe mid-2000s edginess and Godsmack music either. This game is so mechanically broken that huge parts of it are nothing but misery, and the fact that you have to cheese so many fights proves that the combat system is NOT, in fact, good. It's usually the element that gets the most praise but I'm beginning to think that it's just because the camera goes into slow-mo sometimes while someone's head gets chopped off. But this game only wishes that it was in the same league as God of War or Devil May Cry. The combat is nowhere near as tight or responsive, and all you gotta do is mash buttons or find a way to cheese an enemy.

The platforming. Its difficult, but its probably the most interesting and challenging of the Sands Trilogy. Its also the main reason to go back to this game, since Sands of Time is too easy with its platforming, and Two Thrones is too short.

Combat is nothing special, but it is better than Sands of Time. If you're mashing buttons you are doing it wrong. But having learned how the combat works, its still mostly just there.

Story is an edgy mess, but Two Thrones does make it better. But thats more a positive of Two Thrones than Warrior Within. TT comparing how the Prince has changed for the worse in WW and how he has to unlearn his edgy behaviors is an interesting part.

Music is good, but yea its a big tone shift. Its complete edge, but if you accept what its going for, its catchy.

Now the real winner when it comes to 3D Prince of Persia platforming is Forgotten Sands Wii.

Not the mediocre HD version you can play on PC and consoles, but the entirely unique and different Wii game that just happens to share the same name (good job Ubisoft marketing).

Lol, you are setting ridiculous standards, its a old game and the graphics and mechanics is outdated, and really bad compared to today's standard, but the story it was build on, the mechanics, and the trill it brings on its time is incredibly great! Combat wise, if we compare GoW of its time, GoW hands down.

But on other elements like:

- it brought a unique time reversal mechanics,
- the puzzles/platforming are also harder compared to GoW,
- the rush is also better, imagine being chased by Dahaka while platforming and there is a chance you will miss those platforms, darn, much trilling and much harder than GoW
- plot twist and lore is 10/10, GoW is 0/10, story narration 8/10, GoW is 10/10 if we could make that comparison.

In so far, of many games I have played, no game has replicated such exciting mechanics, gameplay and story.

I love when people using sentence like: "you have to cheese" "game is bad" etc. without knowing what spacebar or enter or formating text even is on becasue of skill issue and lack of brain cell lmao.
