These games work fine for me on Windows 7 though.
I haven't tried Manjaro (Arch Linux based) yet, but suspect it'll do well enough.
What about Windows 10 64-bit? Because I have that one system.
Then I won't gonna buy this, no matter how low cost it has. A piece of garbage taking too much space on Steam Store.
Manjaro is free (kind of ironic that this is a Windows game, yet it runs fine in Linux using Steam Proton and not Windows 10, apparently). Maybe just get a thumbnail flash drive to dual boot with it for some retro gaming.
Oh, yeah, forgot to mention earlier that yes, I did get the PoP SoT trilogy working in Manjaro too without issue.
Cheers.
Now then what the actual F? Will it run on my Windows 10 or not? What makes Ubisoft PoP games not running on Windows 10 at some people's case? What my Windows 10 needs in order to run the trilogy? What it depends on a Windows 10 is alright or not?
Ok, but what makes your Windows 10 different from others Windows 10? Most Win 10 systems doesn't run it as I read some forums but still not even a single person pinned down what makes this game possibly not running on Windows 10, they don't mention anything useful. The person who implemented the minimum system requirements for the trilogy didn't type Win 2000 and XP ONLY for nothing. Dude I seriously going to pirate the whole trilogy if nobody can give me a proper answer according to that.
The requirements are extremely low considering how old the game is, and it works fine on Windows 10.
You wont get a definitive response if it will work for you since every PC is different.
Then I think I cannot expect anyone being an analytical player who examines the scenarios of PC builds with running Warrior Within, Sands of Time and Two Thrones. To make a game work like that, I need some other tools to find out what rules out Windows 10 in the minimum requirements viewpoint, because if most of you can run the game alright and the reviews are not even mentioning the problem that may that mean the possibiliy that Ubisoft fixed the incompatibility issue earlier I just don't know about it? It supposed to work theoritically, but the results what you guys saying and what the Ubisoft forums I was reading are contradicting strongly with each other, which makes me totally undecisive about my choice to buy the game here or not. It's way more expensive on GoG, whilst it guaranteedly supports Windows 10. I may try to find a Steam version of each of these games and then buy them if I happen experience correct running with all the games. Kinda sad that there's no PoP bundle to increase the save up money bonus for myself.
Just buy it for cheap and then refund if it doesnt work. You can refund as long as you dont play for 2 hours.
The recommended Operating System is quite old due to when the game was first released. It can definitely run on Windows 10, however every PC is different and there may be unexpected hurdles.
Here are some suggestions -
- Having too high an FPS can cause issues in older games such as this, so it's recommended to enable V-Sync or use an FPS limiter
- Launch the game in compatibility mode with an older OS selected
- Run the game as admin[support.ubisoft.com]
- Disable background apps[support.ubisoft.com] | You could have an overlay software running that conflicts with the game
I hope that helps!
