Imagine if there was no rewind time (and slow time) then the game would have been just as hard as Dark Souls
As i said, thats the second game i play with mouse´n key, Sands of Time being the first
I tried to configure the keys in a better way for my hands and fingers, but find the default setting the best, even being clumsy as it is
I think with time i will eventualy get used to it,or i can get a gamepad
There were so many moments i thought : "I would have no problems in this section with my controller"
I thought for a long time before buying the trilogy here on steam, cause i knew it would be a challange playing with Mouse'n key, but i wanted so much to play and here was the only place avaliable for me to get those games( i have a xbox 360, it have Sands of time, but its not avaliable in Brazilian Xbox Live)
And i agree with you, without rewind it would be mad hard .In SoT,the final section where you play without the dagger,my god ,that was tense. As i said i got stuck for a time on that part where you do the hopping down on the wall, and without the dagger with no chekpoitns ,i had redone so many times that entire section that i actualy get pretty good and fast at it hahaah
Overall game is harder than SoT,but not too hard, just that speciffic plataforming sequence i mentioned in my original post was trully stressfull
Hope i get a gamepad,i couldn't use the combat system to full extent with the Mouse'n Key .The combos are great but i had to relly on parry and throws for eficience
Now i will start Two Thrones,i realy hope being able to pull of the stealth with the M'nKey
Just throw a knife from where you're standing to kill the ninja lady...
still works with Keyboard and mouse?
It worked most of the times against grounded enemies, just didn't worked against the throwing knife shadows
But against the dogs in the walls i never managed to hit then with throwing wepons, so i assumed it was not possible
Even now ,after had alread beaten the game, i'm not sure if i had get the timing to do the wallrun slash perfect
I just beat T2T using Mouse and Keyboard . After beating SoT and WW with it, T2T was easier for almost the entire game, i had no major troubles with speedy kills and plataforming ( except for one or other moment where the camera didn't helped .) Chariots sections were challanging but i "fine tuned" after some tries.Bosses weren't much problem too, i heard lots of peaple saying that the double bosses were hard, but it was ok for me, the real problem i had was againt the Vizier, wich i heard wasn't hard
I think using Mouse'n Key in that fight really was a hinder for me. In the second phase where you have to do a vertical wall run to initiate a speedy kill was maddening,
The camera would lock in an isometrical view so doing the vertical run became really hard, as the prince would go horizontal and them i would be hit by the rotating stones .I managed it after lots of retries, holding two directional keys at the same time but it didin't felt reliable at all .
And after that you have to do a lengthy plataforming section to reach the boss in the final phase, while he shots at you ,if you die you have to restart from the very begining.Again i had trouble with the camera, sometimes it would position itself pointing to were i needed to jump, but somitmes it would go crazy ,repositioning it with Mouse fast enough, while avoiding being hit was really hard ( not to mention the fact that you need to find your way trhough the plataforms).
I imagine that those camera issues would be less problematic with an analog stick, both to positioning the camera fast and jumping in odd angles
Now i would like to know if those games are really harder with keyboard or if a experienced key' player would have no trouble with it
the clearly backwards ways controls work when you're hanging on poles throughout the entire game is number one. it makes no sense and they knew it. thats why they make it a timed event here.
the freaking ground breaks away before you even touch it, the prince will randomly not grab, the camera is nothing but bs especially for the lady section and whenever you dont make it, you have to repeat a needlessly long section all over, which isnt even hard, its just throwing everyone down.
the ninja lady still getting you even when you get her and the ground collapsing at the very end are just the final middle finger to players, its bad design and nothing else.
ps: theres even more. sometimes rewinding time doesnt rewind the platforms, sometimes the prince just gets stuck wallrunning, sometimes you cant grab the last branch before the lady part, you'll hit it like a wall and can only bounce back. same is true for the platform right before the branch.
its just nothing but buggy bs.
