how i slow time properly?

i know i should tap the rewind button twice, but the problem is its not always working, no matter what i do.

if i press it too quickly, it rewind time also which make me lose 2 sand slots, if i press it regular, it gets to slow "mode" but ends very quick before i even start moving forward.

its not consist at all. any help or tip to improve it?

For rewind u have to hold the button, not tapping twice. And tap once for slow mode
