I am an Air Traffic Controller 4

I am an Air Traffic Controller 4

Not many people know this legendary game. Let me tell you a story:
So game developer's original website is this: https://www.technobrain.com/ I assume you have noticed that it is Japanese. Because TechnoBrain is a Japanese game development company and it has developed "I am Air Traffic Controller" games since 1990s.

However due to license agreement with Japanese airlines of Japan Airlines, All Nippon, Air Do, Skymark, Solaseed, StarFlyer,Peach and other countries' major airlines, this game haven't been able to be published outside of Japan. We were only able to watch gameplay videos in Japanese.

Now it looks like TB has listened to its community outside of Japan and decided to publish the game on Steam with fake airline names as color names. We have been waiting this for so long that I was starting to losing my hope.

This game was amazing and I assume it will be more amazing with official English language support and bug fixes. Graphics are amazing, gameplay is either playful or challenging up to player so it is not a boring game at all.

TB published original ATC4 with many other airports such as: Kansai, New Chitose, Naha, Centair and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (for a reason original airport name is censored by Steam). I hope to see them in STEAM version as well. These airports have special features as well for example Naha has military flights, New Chitose has extreme weather situations like snow, Kansai has not just airport traffic control but also Osaka bay air traffic with 2 other airports of Itami and Kobe, Centair has Airshow events and fly-bys and so on...

You can see more information and more pictures of this game on original Japanese website (don't worry Google Chrome translates it to English pretty good) https://www.technobrain.com/atc4/

I especially suggest people to check in game pictures.

Stay well

I recalled TB did publish ATC3 to the west before, though not on Steam and was barely promoted by them.

It is nice that TB decided to give it another go with ATC4, on Steam no less. That said, it really comes down to the price, advertisements, and DRM.

It is not going to work out if TB treats Steam as if it is a digital Japanese market. They can't price it around $80 USD, put little efforts into promoting the game, and add online DRM on top of it.

Hopefully TB has the right mindset for the Steam market.

Side note: TB really needs to add an official level editor into the game.

I was SO happy to see this series coming west because I just discovered the Airport Hero series on PSP/3DS, then ATC3, and now ATC4 -- completely in love. I agree that they can't price it at $80, but given that this is only the first installment in the ATC4 series (Haneda airport), I hope they find success here in the West and bring over the other aiports as well, such as Chitose.

It's probably a stretch for them to release ATC3 as well.

Actually there is a traditional chinese version of the series because of contract with Cathay Pacific and South China airlines as in KaiTak DLC in ATC2, but no western translate version.

Hello,
frankly I regret that this game is not in French (at least the texts) so I will not buy it!

I am not disappointed that TB is making a progress. This is still a milestone for a gaming company that was stuck in Japan for more than 20 years.
