First play "Deliver Us The Moon"?

Does it make sense to first play "Deliver Us The Moon"?
Or are these games not connected in any way?

Deliver us Mars is the Sequel to DUtM. There is a bit of backstory explained by going through Moon first before Mars. I would recommend it. Strictly speaking, they are both stand alone games.

it have a lot of references about the first game, it happens in the same universe, playing the first one is a good practice.

is like playing the og mw1 and mw2, u can live without playing both, but playing the first one always will give u more lore related stuff.

I just got the game for free from Epic and it looks great, as the Moon one does, but now I'll just keep it in my library until I someday own "Deliver Us The Moon". Don't want to spoil the sequel for myself.

Deliver Us The Moon is a great game. It's a good opportunity to pick it up now, as it's 70% (or 68%) discounted now. But you probably knew that...

But I just bought 4 games and the Albion DLC for X3... I have to play these games first.

Haha I know the feeling! Have lots of games I bought on sales I haven't played yet, including this one! Silly luxury problems...

I would say it's almost a requirement, because Deliver Us Mars has a very strong emotional story that is completely enriched by the original game. You do get the back story in Deliver Us Mars, and it even offers additional insight into Isaac's past.

BUT you'd do yourself a disservice by not playing the original. It's a great adventure game that's tailor made for fans of games like Lucas Arts "The Dig". I really hope they make a trilogy out of this.
