Stuck in a specific climbing section
Need help with a specific climbing section where i need to jump to the other side of a climbing section. It's at the end of chapter 6 i guess. My character is not jumping, and is falling down every time! Any hints? Game says directional key + jump but it's not working. God how i hate this stupid climbing in this game! This bs ruined the whole game for me! Wish i never bought it, deliver us moon was million times better.

EDIT: nevermind ... just got it ...

you need to look at the wall youre jumping from (not the wall you want to jump to).
then just hold "S" (or the button you set for "walking backwards") and then jump ...

but i agree. games good, climbing sucks. useless mechanic to lenghten playtime

Yes it's exactly this part, will give it a try.
Agreed, this climbing section was just stupid and infuriating. I've disliking climbing in this game overall, it is very clunky, but this particular moment has terrible UI instructions. I mean I could clearly tell I was meant to jump backwards, but there's no indication of how to do it - I spent a good half hour trying to position the camera correctly, then jumping in the direction the other wall was from the camera's point of view, which is the logical way to think about this. If they just wanted me to think of the character and not see where I was jumping, that L joystick button could have been clearer about pushing BACK.

I'm overall enjoying the game but annoying things like this are making it worse than Deliver us the Moon, frankly.

I use the keyboard and have failed to get past the jump to other side of odun cave ice section now over 50 times. I've tried every key combination and still all I do is drop back to the ground. In the end, I had to uninstall the game here. Really really sucks. The developers should at least give customers a means of bypassing the cave ice scenario with some kind of "skip" key. To uninstall the game here is a terrible option. So unhappy I bought the game.

@fsgregs I also use the keyboard. Just go all the way up on the first wall, hold on to the position and press "S" as per back direction and jump, Kat will turn and land correctly with the automatic flip, just press the mouse buttons to grab onto the wall again, repeat on the central ice block to move past and jump backwards again to land onto the next section.

Just wait until you get to the rotating climby thing. Ugh! That one and this one are my #1 and #2 PITA

Hello! We understand that this is quite a challenging platforming area in Deliver Us Mars, so in our 2.0 update we have added a tutorial prompt in the area our players have had the most trouble, so hopefully it helps and becomes clearer in terms of what exactly you have to do, so you can enjoy the rest of Deliver Us Mars :)

"We understand that this is quite a challenging platforming area".

This type of jump tends to be too short when not pressing "W" forward. They usually work when quickly also pressing forward, but this should not be necessary. Also extremely difficult to get a new hold in the falling corridor.

I found some of the climbing sections challenging, but with perseverance managed to get through ok after some time. Thus quite rewarding on completion. Who said gaming is supposed to be easy anyway? Easy is boring. The game tells you what to do (key combos etc), in order to make the jumps on certain 'challenging' sections.
I managed not to start crying and uninstall the game every time I fell off the wall.
The climbing in this game is unfun
My biggest issue with climbing so far - I'm at chapter 4 - is that even on wall parts that have the "climbable" texture your pickaxe often does not get a hold. It's then just random trial and error until you find a spot where it gets stuck in the rock. Or sometimes there's just none and you need to drop and reattach.

To be clear, my issue is not that you needed to drop, but that there's just no indication whether or not you can climb a specific rock.

Why do that? The texture should indicate "climbable" and not "sometimes climbable". Not to mention it took me ages to figure it out and I thought I was doing something wrong.
