try and Verify integrity of the files

edit:

in your library game page of the game, click on the gear icon (settings) and select properties and then local files

Got it working! Don't run as administrator and Run in compatibility mode for Windows 7. Worked for me!

In my case, I renamed "openxr_loader.dll" in "Deliver Us Mars\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\OpenXR\win64" to "openxr_loader.dll.bak" and the game launched.

Afaik for whatever reason the game has VR turned on in some capacity, and so it tries to do VR stuff but can't as it isn't meant to, so gets stuck launching. This isn't the first UE4 game I've had to do this with.

So, reaching out to the support and opening a ticket is the only way to fix this mess?
Because I also can't launch the game. I'm stuck at the main menu and the "play" button doesn't work.

And none of the solutions above worked for me (and the page on the Frontier site really isn't helping at all, since I have everything up to date and I don't have a potato pc).

2 things:
* I initially had issues even getting the game to start. The trick of setting the .exe to run in compatibility /w Windows 7 fixed the issue
* After this, I thought I had the issue where I couldn't progress from the start menu. I didn't realize at first it requires pressing and holding to progress. I'm not sure why it is this way, but I imagine that's throwing more people than just me.

Thanks for the help folks

I kept clicking on NEW GAME and the game would not launch. You have to click and hold down on NEW GAME to launch. They really should put a note next to the button indicating this. Thanks to sithlordaj for the simple solution.

If anyone has problem that after video settings changing the game does not launch anymore, read ahead.

Here is my story:
Installed the game, started, changed some video settings, then went for business and returned couple of days after.
I remember that I have been in menus, but today I click on the game and nothing happens.
Searched for many ways to fix, but nothing helped me.

Solution:
Deleted settings folder for Deliver Us Mars, and now the game starts properly.
Not game save folder, do not be confused.
moira.lachesis Mar 31, 2024 @ 7:58pm
Would you be so kind to say where that is?

%AppData%\Local\DeliverUsMars\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini

just for someone who'll find this old post: what helped me is deleting the three files with ".ushaderprecache" extension in "%localappdata%\DeliverUsMars\Saved". I did rename "openxr_loader.dll" to "openxr_loader.dll.bak" as jim1240 above suggested, dunno if it makes any difference. So I now have DX12 in-game AND ray tracing options visible (they were hidden before even with DX12 enabled). The game doesn't crash and starts fine now, but it does take about 30 seconds to launch. Also, after deleting the files and initial start the game will lag in the menu, i think it recompiles the shaders or smt, but it goes back to normal after a minute. I'm on win11 pro with rtx 4060 laptop.

Btw, deleting the whole "%localappdata%\DeliverUsMars\Saved\Config" folder helped starting the game and it said DX12 but ray tracing was not there for some reason, but after deleting the .ushaderprecache files the options showed in "Graphics" under "Grooms" option and it all works.

Hope that helps.
