Request for Devs: Improved Proton Functionality
It's a pretty fun game but I want to move to Linux soon, and I'm unwilling to hold off on that decision for this single game. Steam has a service called Proton that runs Windows games in a sort of compatibility mode for Linux users.

I can understand if the devs don't want to make a full Linux version, but it would be great if they could tweak the existing Windows version a little to make it work better with Steam Proton (which most modern games actually work decently well with btw).

Proton users rated its functionality with the service as Bronze:

If it could be improved to a point where it's Gold-rated or better that would be great.

I just was about to ask the same. I did open a Issue at the official Proton Github page, but there is litle to none movement since June.

I realy like this game, only factor that is hindering me to play this game much more, is that it does not work well on Linux with Proton. It is playable, but the teleportation glitch, and disapearing / missing notes does make it prettymuch unplayable.

Here is the Github Issue in the hopes, that the developers are willing to help fix this issue.

Ok the issue is related to FMOD as someone told us: prior the FMOD update, the game was ok. Sorry because it s hard to fix on our side. But we will try to reach FMOD and see what we can do to make the linux version up again

Might also help to contact Steam, because if I understand correctly, Steam also is putting a lot of development work into making Windows games work with Proton so Linux users can buy & run them through Steam.

I think most of that work is focused on flat games though (Valve wants players to be able to run Windows games on Steam's Linux gaming machine, the Steam Deck).

But who knows -- if you reach out to them they might be able to help with this in some way since Valve is doing most of the work with Proton.

In any case... thank you for investigating this matter.

Is there any response from FMOD regarding a fix or a workaround?

Did you ever hear anything back from FMOD about this?
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Super glad to hear. Looking forward to playing this when I install Linux in a few months.
