At first I wanted to give a negative review, because the quality of the game is honestly not that good. The story is just okay, no cutscenes - just static dialogues. There are some bugs, most of them can be resolved by restarting the game. I am really disappointed by the jankiness, I really expected better from WayForward, but I guess it's a licensed game, so fans like me will buy it no matter what. As for graphics, they are passable, but sadly there is no graphical settings whatsoever, not even to change the resolution and I think some anti-aliasing solution could help with the image quality on the main character (at least in 1080p, which I played at). There was some weird blurring when controlling the main character, but that could be just a side effect of me playing this game on a high refresh rate screen (144Hz) and the game wasn't prepared for such scenario. Anyway, I am giving a positive review, because even though the game costs more than it should and it's not that good in general, I still had fun with it, to the point that I 100% it. Since I watched Trollhunters for the first time I was always saying that it could be an amazing video game, there is lost of lore and upgrades - unfortunately, this isn't what I imagined, but I'm hoping Netflix will try to make more games based on their franchises. Oh and also, if you didn't watch the series, I truly recommend doing that, besides, the game is set after the events of the series, so keep that in mind too. If you really want to play this game, wait for some discount, at full price it's not really worth it in my opinion.

My family and I love the Trollhunters series and while this game may be aimed a bit more towards young children, it was an absolute blast to play! It is a little short; I took my time to gather everything, complete the achievements, play all the levels of Gnome tossing, Go-go Sushi, and the Luug coin hunt, and it only took me 13 hours. However, it was a very entertaining 13 hours :) The whole story line ties in with things from the show, there are plenty of references and jokes to all of Tales of Arcadia, and the game play just makes you want to keep going! I couldn't wait for my kid to go to sleep for the night so I could get back to my game!! :D 10/10 would and will play it again!!

IF SHE TOUCHES HIM... The game locks. You can't continue. There is no cutscene and you better restart that level AND DON'T LET HER TOUCH HIM!!! Better yet, KICK YOUR friend in the game itself and THEN approach Porgon... Unless you want to keep re-doing the level over... And over... And over again.)

Welllllll... This game is alright. It isn't overly hard... At all... It's almost... Relaxing.

You slowly get other attacks (maybe just two) and you also get "Assists" -> those you summon... There is a mini-game... Collectibles... And several levels/Bosses to work your way through.

I hadn't watched the series, so I don't know if the story is loyal to the cartoon or not... So let's talk co-op.

If you want to feel important -> play the hero. Anyone who plays the secondary character... This is how a friend of mine described it: "I am playing an expendable character. It doesn't matter if she dies or not." Non-Hero characters also can't summon Assists and are mainly good for getting a few extra hits in and making teleporty portals.

If you don't have a co-op player... You are only missing out on some damage and teleporty portals.

The insignificance is like this: You can just run through the level as a Hero / Dodge Boss attacks and make your "Co-Op buddy" a sacrifice. You can retain ALL your lives, seeing as your "helper's death" doesn't even freaking matter, and they will gain all their health back ... Within a few seconds.

If Hero dies... It Checkpoints you... If you die on a Boss... It keeps going... You don't even restart the Boss fight... o.O

Like I said. Not bad, but... Could be better. Bugs could also be worked out and uh... What goes into the "ITEMS" bar exactly? All the items I acquired went into "Inventory" and "Assists" into their own category...

I purchased this game for my son as he loved the trollhunters series. This game is basically unfinished, using co-op and the shadow portal mechanic you can get into areas of the map you shouldn't. The game randomly freezes and exhibits other odd behaviours. For example after defeating "Porgon" in a battle, the next line of dialogue didn't trigger, meaning my son was just stuck in a room. We had to restart and reattempt the whole level many times before the dialogue triggered and he could move on. Another bug we noticed is that some times troll Jim won't transform into human Jim when obtaining the glamour mask essentially softlocking you. This game is far to bug riddled to have been released.

Should be $10

Really unpolished graphics and clunky combat system. It might be fun for kids, but as a fan of the show above the age of its target audience I cannot recommend. It is not nearly as magical nor inventive as the show :/

I haven't gotten very far into the gameplay, but I love it so far! Definitely a must-play if you're a fan of the Tales of Arcadia series, as it goes right along with the events of the series and has fully voiced cut scenes. My one complaint would be that the "tutorial" levels aren't very good at explaining how you do certain things, like sliding or high jumping. It simply informs you that you can do them, but leaves you to figure exactly how to do them on your own.

Edit: It is pretty expensive for such a short game, and it does assume that you've watched Netflix's Tales of Arcadia series. If you haven't, it's just confusing and very spoiler-y. I enjoy it, but I would wait until it goes on sale to buy it if you're interested in playing it for yourself; I finished it in only 8 hours of on and off playing.

For the 80 minutes playing this, I have encountered many bugs. Not enough to break the whole game and make it unplayable. Just enough to notice them. I am glad I found a cheaper way to get this game because playing this game for $30 is not worth it. If its on sale and the price justifies it enough for you, then I'd get it. If you aren't a kid trying to play this game I would recommend the hard difficulty, the normal difficulty is way too easy.

TL;DR game is not worth retail price, wait for it to go on sale. Play hard mode if not child.

A fun platformer that plays a lot like Aladdin on SNES.

Its a roughly good game but the price tag is WAY too high! I know the price got lowered but its STILL too high! If the game price was 5.99 it would be worth it but it is not. Not recommended!
