Poor Graphical Performance between 'Steam Version vs RS3 Windows Download '
Title kinda says it all, but.

I cant be the only one who notices that the original download from RS3 website, that client, is running much more smooth and FPS wise, better, than the Steam Version. So what's up?

have you looked in your graphics settings after downloading and hoping on it? If not then you'll have to change your settings it wont be carried over from the other client, there is a setting for foreground and background fps in the graphics.

Of course, I've had to turn the graphics settings lower than the ones on the original client (I can normally run the client at completely maxed out settings.)

Not sure then, I have had 0 issues.

Weird. Haven't noticed any issues with the steam version other than having to reapply some of the settings such as zoom sensitivity

i believe the differences could be between steam & rs3 launchers are..steam is always open after launching & the rs3 launcher still uses java ( could be wrong not played for about 7 years) & the launcher is closed upon starting up..those small differences can increase the ram, cpu, gpu performance..other than that i have no idea why unless you re-tune more graphical settings until you find a sweet spot with performance

Under Steam my FPS looks ok (using "displayfps" from the console), but the motion is really jerky. My guess is that the Steam integration is causing RS to stutter. I'm going back to running it directly. (I can't see any advantage in running via Steam anyway).

It's true idk why. Steam launcher gets me 20 fps in unpopulated areas, while in the official rs3 launcher i get 80-90+, same settings.

I get 60-90fps in all areas on Steam with max settings. Might be your hardware configuration.

I just needed to go to the graphic options and put all the right options in the right order. now I have again 140 fps everywhere :)

Zero issues here as well. Been playing since 2008. Transition to Steam was smooth as silk. Game runs just as it does when I run it from the client with Steam shut down.

tried setting the steam client to the minimum settings, still plays in like 20 fps xD ..
