what makes this game worth playing?
I do like games that grind but this is an RPG that keeps on clicking and clicking, why is it fun to play?

loot, killing bosses with buddies, getting loot, selling drops and making cash, the elite dungeons are okay too

Find a clan you like, the social aspect is a huge part of the game imo. Set some goals and work towards them, share your progress with friends.

Nothing. Too many microtransactions, game is boring and dull.

The better version is old school runescape.

Don't know why it get good reviews, the control is too clunky.
Is it even new? creating new character name is very hard almost every names already taken.

It has a large, dedicated player base.

If you can get past the clunky controls, there's a unique gem of a game that has few like it. Although, I'd recommend Old School RuneScape with the RuneLite launcher over this version of RuneScape.

There are loads of quests, bosses and skilling to be done, Also when you make friends in the game it makes it so much better. Its deff a slight grind but very rewarding when you get to end game content and are able to fight the bosses :)

This game has had a few fanbases pass through it during its life cycle. About five different fanbases spread 20 years apart. The engines the game has ran on give it its personality, as they've changed the playerbase has moved on / jumped on.
These are the different versions of the game in chronological release order - essentially, they are all the same game, updated over time.

DeviousMUD [Multi User Dungeon] (closed beta 1998-2000) Engine: RuneTek1
Runescape Classic (2000-2003) Engine: RuneTek2
Runescape2 (2003-2007) RuneTek3
Runescape HD (2007-2009) RuneTek4
(Massive Engine Rewrite Period 2009-2013) RuneTek5
RuneTek6 (2011-2013)
Runescape HTML5 [Otherwise known as Runescape3 until re-branded back to just 'Runescape'.] RuneTek7 (2013-Present)

This is what Runescape is: now an unchecked, outdated, critique evading, virtue signaling game. Which hosts a fanbase that shares its flaws. The only reason why people give this game good reviews is because they grew up with it during one of these time periods listed above. They can't seem to understand or see how much of a trash game it is.

Inbe4 someone says I'm a misanthrope again for judging a game i have 5 years in-game time on before a Steam move - you're literally proving my point.
