Let me know when I can delete my character, instead of...
...having to create an entirely new account to have a new character.

It seems I set off the fanboy crowd. Defending bad design decisions doesn't make your favorite game unique. Insulting me only shows this MMO community is just as toxic as WoW's. But you fanboys will keep doing both.

It doesn't matter if anything is wrong with a character. This is a basic function of MMOs and has been since before Runescape was even launched.

Runescape is not a typical MMO. It takes many years to enjoy all of the content. It was not designed for you to level up 2-3 different characters in a month.

You're not limited to one character. Also your account is stored on Jagex's servers so deleting is something you cannot do.
How do you even make a new character/account? I didnt realize id be stuck with the placeholder name I chose

You can change your username once a month if you get membership and you can even change your character appearance

What does the account being on their servers have to do with deleting a character? Your EQ2 account is on Daybreak's servers and you can delete your characters there. Same for every other MMO.

Requires using a different email. So if you prefer having only one email, like most people, you have to create another one just to get a new character. How this works on Steam, I don't know.

option in your account settings to change your name once a mth for free
Not really free if you have to buy a membership. Not like I'll be using the in game gold purchasing option either as a new player

Runescape has been around near 20 years and has never had this so I guess this is goodbye...

there is no point in deleting your character so it's not an option

Your account cannot be deleted as I said. The account (basically what you use for both games + the runescape site) cannot be removed. And more importantly why do you need to delete the account? As I said you're not limited to one so you can make as many as you want. This game isn't like a "traditional new age" mmo the game is 19 years old you honestly expect the game to have the same functions as something like everquest or wow? Clearly you don't understand how this genre works.

@CAZ -- RuneScape is the original MMORPG, It predates even the powerhouse MMORPGs that came out on the first Xbox. Original RuneScape was launched in 1999. I consider RuneScape 3 to be nothing more then a continuation of the original 1999 version, as do a great many of the original players. Some of the original RuneScape players simply play OSRS because they do not like some of the updates, such as EOC.

why are you whinning about not being able to delete your charcter..? runescape was never intended to be played that way. as for "mmos long before runescape was lunached" name one? runescape was released in 1998, one of the oldest mmos still playable. runescape's "charcters" arent locked to being an archer mage or warrior. hence why deleteing accounts is pointless.

Original copyright was in 1999, I just mentioned that a second before your comment. I think the reason why RuneScape is still around is because it is not some overly sexualized MMORPG with very little gear variation, lack of story driven quests, and unreasonable subscription to content ratio. Plus RuneScape has managed to stay away from Liberal identity politic propaganda, which is surprising considering the authoritarian ♥♥♥♥ country they are headquartered in. I still have my account from when I first started playing, back before emails were used.
