Linux support?
This should work on Linux if there was a build.

FYI There is a flatpak of runescape. It works fine. You can find it on flathub or the gnome software centre.

(yes i know you want a steam version, but at least the flatpak version works out of the box.

This might be something we will support via steam in the future, but for now the best way to play RuneScape on linux is by downloading the NXT Client instead via https://www.runescape.com/download

fair enough.

I haven't noticed any missing fonts TBH. Either way a steam version shouldn't take too much effort considering it's available elsewhere.

That client hasn't worked for me for a very, very long time now. It works in some instances, but most of the time you have to hunt and jump through hoops to get it working. If you supported a linux version on steam, you'd have the runtime and won't have nearly as many compatibility problems. Please add it.

rsc works on pi 2, pi 2b and all future iterations. RS3 does not work on pi 4 with out needing to run windows 10 on it using the arm build and them emulating the intel arch. Even then runs like hot garbage. Give us native ARM support like you do on android, i shouldn't need to run a android os on my pi for it to work with the pi.

Sorry, "might be"?

i don't use windows at all any more, i'm not turning back just for one game. I'd very much like to play Runescape again and have a good experience doing it through Linux. But what can any of us Linux users do with "might be" and NXT which hardly works any more?

So here i am eagerly looking to get back into it and the developers aren't sure they want to do something to include another OS and the customers it would bring? I hope there is a clearer answer some point down the line on this one day.

For now you can use steams proton. I use the custom version (Glorious Eggroll), it's pretty stable as long as you don't resize the window.

it seems to be the only way to play RS is the GE version. A lot of the users are suggesting this custom version rather than the one steam uses. It clearly isn't entirely compatible with GE either unless you make some changes first to screen resolution and even then it isn't 100% stable.

The Flatpak version works for for me. I'd recommend that. It is a huge oversight on Jagex's part that it's not available on Steam though considering a working Linux version exists already and Valve is known for supporting Linux game releases.

Depending on what distro you use it should be available in your repo (as a flatpak) or *possibly* a snap as well if you're on Ubuntu, although I despise snaps for reasons I won't get into. If it's not there just got to Flathub and get it from there.

This method isn't very user friendly and the less nerdy won't want to go digging around in the terminal. I'm not a huge fan of flatpaks, however in this case I feel it's the best option for the average person who just wants to get their game up and running. Please do consider adding it to Steam though.

I haven't seen any issues like that. Aren't flatpaks by their very design supposed to self contain all required dependencies? Only thing I've noticed is loot pickups don't always show what's in them but I'm unsure if I'm just doing something wrong or if it's an actual bug.
