I'm a carebear, and I'm ok with it. Does this game support that?

Can I enjoy most of the content with a subscription if I want to avoid PvP? I tried to read up to understand how PvP works, but it sounds like if you go into "the wilderness" or attack someone, you can die and lose all your stuff. Can I avoid being PK'd?

Please don't rant on me because I don't PvP. I'm older. My reflexes are slow. I don't find it fun.

You can avoid the wilderness for just about 99% of all content in the game. :) There are a few things out there to entice you to go, but none of it is required. There is a quest where you spend perhaps 2 minutes there, but I've never heard of someone getting pked during it.

Absolutely! You will also get a warning before you enter PVP zones, but like the comment above you can avoid those PVP zones for almost all content.

I should also mention, if you remove all your gear and inventory to the bank prior to entering pvp areas, you lose nothing on death.

Yes, in-fact PvP isn't really that popular any more in Runescape. There is the "wilderness" in the northern part of the map which is the main "PvP" area, however there's not really many reasons to go there, and you will also get a warning message before you are allowed to enter. So nothing to really worry about and can be easily avoided.

Always bank your items if you need to enter a PvP area and you won't lose anything.

The "combat" in Runescape is mainly based around PvE now, such as bosses, dungeons, raids, slayer etc. PvE is really fun, and has a variety of difficulties, so you can work your way up over time.

abyss runs are pretty much safe.
