Jagex scamming us (DO NOT BUY KEYS!!)
So I posted this before but I basically summed up my last video post into a more detailed version including some emails I've been getting from an unhelpful (mod zig) that keeps telling me that the TH is working as intended, reddit jmods and pmods have been actively deleting my posts informing other players of this. So it went from "maybe this is a bug or glitch?" to "Nope, they're definitely scamming us this christmas and who knows how many other times." Its still pretty long but my voice is in the entire thing and a summary of my last video, not the whole 28 minutes. Lol that first one I posted I had slowed down to make it more noticeable.

I also have a recording of it happening on the mobile version, recorded from my iphone. Again, "wOrKiNg aS IntEnDed".

Alright, so I watched the whole video this time, and here's my thoughts:

1. I'm not a lawyer, so if you're actually serious about taking legal action, first talk to someone who is a lawyer, but while I would love to see someone taking Jagex to court over Treasure Hunter, I doubt you will. That's why Jagex doesn't care about your issue: they also know you won't sue them, and if you did, they know they would win, by throwing better lawyers at it than you.

2. In one of your emails you said you either want a refund or 400 keys replaced; NEVER accept keys as a reimbursement. Why? Because it costs Jagex nothing to give you TH keys, it's virtual fluff that has no real value and has no (direct) production costs. If you want Jagex to actually learn something from this whole ordeal, only accept a real money refund; real money is the only thing that actually matters to them.

3. Mods on the RS subreddit are just volunteers, Jagex doesn't tell them how to operate their subreddit, so if they keep deleting your posts, it's because the volunteers themselves wanted to remove your posts for whatever reason.

Anyway, in the likely event that you'll get nothing out of this mess, take the L and remember one thing above all: never buy any microtransactions again, in RS or any other game. Microtransactions still haven't been regulated properly after all these years, so if you keep buying them after this, you will run into a similar situation like this again eventually. Simply assume that it's always a scam, and you won't get burned like this again.

Jagex also scamming by NOT wanting to help a valued customer regain control of his account. BUT THEY STILL WANT THE MONEY FOR THE SUBSCR.

Thank you for this response and I dont truly think theres any legal grounds here to stand on, other than paying for services offered and getting damaged goods. All they had to do was either refund me or give me some form of compensation, even if it is nothing to them (keys), but they are refusing to own up to their mistakes. So now, and Ive told them this, it is my number one priority to bring awareness to this and hopefully make a dent in their pockets. So lets see, they could've just took a $300 hit or they can take a bigger hit. Also, was thinking last night instead of just forums and youtube maybe I can send it off to a gaming news site and then can roll with a story on it?

Yeah they dont have to worry about that from me. Im done funneling money into their pockets. Account is like a year away from the 15 year mark. Ive been playing this game since its release, when I first seen kids in my high school playing it on the computers in the library. However, I botted on other accounts and they were ultimately banned. Which I dont blame them for that. That was my wrong doing. But for this, nah Im out and ♥♥♥♥♥ hitting the fan.

Why are you even buying keys in the first place?

For the rewards and the events? But no more and trying my damndest to spread it to others not to do it either. Looks like you're one, of the many, who already dont buy keys.

Jagex pulls this stuff cause people keep buying keys. No one to blame but yourself.

Uh no, just because jagex does this and no one has any balls to speak up about doesn't mean "oh well blame yourself". You want to put the blame on someone or something, put it where it belongs. ON Jagex.

Why not both? Jagex does what it does because there are players who enable that behavior; for the first few times it's a no-brainer to blame only Jagex for that, but when it becomes a habit for them, you can't just ignore how it came to be a habit. It's stupid that Jagex thinks it can just wait out the customer's anger without consequence, but it's worse that people do get bored of being angry and forgive Jagex, playing straight into their hand.

People have spoken up against MTX for years. Nothing changed other than the reskin of Squeal to Treasure Hunt. Jagex does this goes people are stupid and buy their MTX. If people didn't buy them, then they would've stopped years ago.
People are too stupid for their own good and require government regulation to stop them from being stupid.

Not sure what world you live in, but here in reality, we've BEEN holding Jagex accountable for their MTX crap since it first hit the scene. A good chunk of the playerbase that the hilarious release of "EoC" didn't push away was absolutely continued to be pushed off by the Squeal of Gambling.

How to tell us you know nothing of the history of the playerbase OR Runescape while trying to tell us otherwise.

said this before pretty sure they made it where if it shows the multiplier on a purple cash stack it doesnt get multiplied you just get what is faced out. They said it back when TH first started and the gold economy was starting to see a huge spike in gold in the game. Your just mad that the house won at the casino...boy do i hate to tell you the house always wins

This isn't what a scam is, you're just stupid and bad at math. Read up on why the lottery is a bad bet. You'll learn something.

that is not a good example..with any lottery being it uk,usa, euro you stand a high chance of winning you're orignal bet/ticket back, with jagex's top prize for example 300m,you're going to have to spend several hundred's of real life money on TH keys as the top prize win ratio is 0.001%..you have a much higher chance of winning the actual lottery,as i'm fairly sure any person won't be spending huge amounts of money on tickets ( although i assume some weathly patron's do but they stand a much higher chance than jagex's win ratio currently )

you're exactly the kind of person my post was aimed at. if you stood a better than average chance of making your money back, the state wouldn't make any money off it it. the expected value of any given $2 lottery ticket is -$2.
