Beware - Refunds.
I have an ongoing dispute with Steam.

I bought the Max Pack when it was first available. It gave fifty bank space, as advertised, which stacked with my fifty extra from Premier membership. Approximately one month later this was changed to, each give one hundred additional bank space, but they do not stack. I contacted Jagex to arrange a refund as the main reason for purchasing the Max Pack was the additional bank space. Jagex agreed to refund, but as the purchase was through Steam, I had to go through Steam for it... Who have continually refused to honour the refund.

The moral of this story is never purchase anything through Steam, as they will reject a refund that Jagex has authorised.

That doesn't change the fact that what I purchased was changed very shortly after purchase, to something I wouldn't have purchased, and at the time of purchase the RuneScape website said to go through Jagex for refunds... Who agreed to refund it, and would have had they been able to.

People should be aware that even when a refund should be offered, Steam will refuse it.

Yes, so that they know even if it's not as described, and Jagex agrees it should be refunded, Steam will refuse to.

Thanks for the warning. Wouldn't hurt them to just give you 50 bank spaces anyway.

What was your argument for the refund though? Point out the product was changed after purchase and becomes a bait and switch and will take them to your local consumer affairs authority over it if they refuse to refund agaisnt false advertising.

"we don't refund DLC" is not a valid excuse

1: Local law cant do anything on video games literally dont bother attempting.

2: Started in 2020, okay mate if you were even implying you got it that far back, most and I do mean most companys would slam the door in your face and laugh of you getting mad over 50 freaking bucks of a deal gone sour two years ag.

3: Its cool Jagex said that, but you know I literally looked on the DLC page itself and I wanna ask...

· This item does not stack with the Premier Club bank space. Please note that you cannot obtain Bank Spaces above the 1,470 maximum. If your purchase would put you above 1,470 Bank Spaces, you will not receive this item. You will still receive all other rewards.
· The Membership Access DLC bundle is a one-time purchase and is not recurring. Recurring memberships can only be purchased via the in-game interface.

Literally in the about section, why are you literally upset about the 4 notes that literally Jagex and even Valve have PLASTERED on the page, that seems like an oversight on your end and literally just the result of rapid purchase.

Membership bank spaces relock when your membership expires. They open back up when you renew the membership. This is how it's been for YEARS as far as I can remember back. Additionally, if you go into the IN-GAME STORE, you can unlock additional OVERALL bank spaces on top of membership/free bank spaces.

You need to read things thoroughly before you just drop $100 on something then come and complain about it 2 years later when you don't know what's going on.

This pack is just a worse version of the Premiere access from Jagex's website anyway. If you bought this then you've bought a inferior version of the product.

The only thing you actually get from this instead of buying the items from Jagex's store is the outfit/pet (Which is going to be unlockable with the premiere token in the future anyway)

It was changed because the bank space for being A Premiere member got changed from +50 to +100.

You just got unlucky and bought at the wrong time. You were given everything you agreed to pay for. Of course Jagex would claim your entitled to a refund. They want you to buy from their store and not have to pay Steam its dues.

That's not what I purchased, it was the original Max Pack and the text was significantly different at the time.

I first made Steam and Jagex aware of the problem when it happened, approximately one month after the transaction.

It was because of ME that Premier changed from 50 to 100. Max Pack said 50 at the time I bought it, and it stacked with Premier. Jagex then said that wasn't intended, and changed both to be 100, and not stack. Thus making my Max Pack purchase not what I bought.
