Just Got Hacked and Most of my tradeable wealth

I was just standing at GE contemplating what to do next, when I suddenly got kicked out of my account unable to login saying I have not logged out or there is a server problem. I shrugged it off and

Went to do the dishes and 30 min later I was in legacy server with my stuff gone. Most notably a bond all my 30 million coins. I check my wealth evaluator often, it went from 200million to 100million just like that.

Need HELP?

I find it funny how people use the term hacked so often. 99% of the time its not even a hack its just people using information that is out there in the public domain that YOU put there to gain access to your account with 0 hacking going on. Yes even data breaches count as you putting it out there because you should use a different password for everything.

its basically how people in the past considered things they dont understand to be magic/witchery in the past.

in this case i have no idea what or how this happened so i say hack

edit: and tbh after losing months of grind in 30min i realy didnt think about it much ima just say hack anyway

Depends on the site but for RS if i remember correctly it wont let you know. It will just require someone to type in a code on your phone to login. The only way for them to login is to actually have your phone.

it asks about once a month based on your IP, so if someone used your pc it wouldnt help, but if its a random person trying to access your account they cant

sucks if you do get hacked, but if you did the tutorial one of the first things they teach you when you reach the bank part is to set a pin and there is even a stronghold of security mentioned multiple times which walks you through steps to keep your account secure. if you have a pin they will need to keep your account in their possession for a total of 3 days to clear the pin, if you have a Recovery Email setup you can literally get your account back same day, and if you have 2FA using something like Google Authentication, they need your Code when signing on anyway so it shouldn't even get to the point of needing the bank pin, but at the end of the day the easiest thing you can do is throw a bank pin on your account.

Imagine telling someone whos just got robbed how little and meaningless the value he'd lost. Oh and how he didn't bring a guard dog or a taser gun because the police who wouldnt bother investigating the crime highly recommended it.

yeah thats fine i managed to quadruple the amount ive lost anyway. I have set 2fa and a bank pin also recommends people around me in game to do that if the conversation goes that way.

I might add that i hope jagex will make it mandatory instead of just recommending it though.

Runescape can be played using Jagex's launcher, and bypass steam.
