Graphics and fps
Did any recent update make the graphic integrity decline? I have a 3070, 32 GB and I can't push passed 65 fps on low settings. Used to be able to run it at 100+ on ultra and all my other games run fine.

It's working just like before for me and I have a 3070 aswell.
RS is heavily CPU bound (especially in areas with a lot NPCs around), maybe your CPU is acting up? You should check the load on each core and see if you notice any spiking cores.

I've noticed worse performance, too.

Not in objectively measured FPS; I'm mining sandstone in prif right now and getting over 110 FPS on max settings, but other things are just choppy. Camera movement in combat is one, while the most noticeable issue is that a lot of animations are choppy.

Yep it's a CPU heavy game, thought it doesn't need much. It's unoptimized so sometimes it can chug along performing like you're on integrated graphics despite being on a 30 series card. Use this as an excuse to update your cpu cooler. Though it won't do much for this issue, it's a great excuse lol

It's not that the game is running worse than we think it should. It's that performance recently dropped significantly. Performance was better several weeks ago.

Yea but if you look at the benchmark for running the game hardware-wise, (which isn't much) versus the reality of running the game on its highest settings you can see how unoptimized it is. This is why it's under-performing despite people having the hardware to run it beyond its means. If one little implementation to the game causes it to goof up this much it's a telling sign of an unoptimized mess, which is what Runescape has been for over 8 years anyway. The issues compile when not fixed and then this happens. It will be fixed and the game will run as it did before after tweaked and it's nothing to worry about on your end.

My lowest low was 80fps max settings during dbl exp in the ge. Generally get 120-144fps

12900k/3070

But my 3800x/5700xt at that same place and time got 30fps low with the same settings.

3900x with a 1080 here, maxed out im still getting 90-130fps. Stuttering would be the cache not being correct

use alt and "`" (under esc) to load thew console and type displayfps to get some stats

Try setting Vsync to off globally in your GPU settings and enabling it in-game instead. It might be on for both which can cause refresh rate issues. I always have mine turned off globally and on in-game because the games with the option can utilize it better. Same with filtering etc.

For anyone having any issue I am I found a personal fix. Go into Nivida control panel, Program settings>select a program to customize>add

Find the Runescape Client and add it then go to max frame rate, set the frame rate to what ever your monitor refresh can handle and your GPU, it's back to normal now.

Related question... Will RuneScape ever be GPU Bound?? I feel this has been a topic before.

I play it on my laptop, with an i7 11800H, 3070 and 16gb ram, and don't notice any frame drops whatsoever.
