Ironman or Regular account?
Hi, I'm new to Runescape and wanna make an account but I'm not sure if I should do an Ironman or regular, I've heard cases for both. I'm a uni student so I don't have too much free time so I wouldn't have that much time to grind, but I've been told that leveling is much more rewarding on Ironman.

Iron is a tough start without knowing all the little tricks and tips
If you're going f2p for a while I'd try normal mode first
You're not competing against anyone so take your time learn the ropes then you can always make a Iron after and go hardcore Iron mode then
Most long term players have 2 to 4 accounts with some having 100s

you can link/unlink as many accounts as you want to steam to suit
Although a lot of us play 2 accounts at the same time for mundane tasks like divination or mining and use the standalone client for one account and steam for the other

No reason to limit yourself to normal or iron mode when you can easily play both

Normal if you don't have free time and need to focus on studies. Irons are usually made by people who get bored of the game after maxing or comping and want to start over but with a twist. 'Rewarding' because you put more time and effort gathering supplies and not relying on the player base of GE for items. There's so many guides for Ironmen that the rewarding aspect of being one feels discredited. People aren't going their own way or having their own methods they're just following the cues of others in the same situations. You might as well just play normally. Also I've found Ironmen to be full of themselves because they think they've put more effort in simply by being anti-social. It goes against the reason why people play Runescape in the first place: why would you bottleneck the experience? Just go play ESO if you want an experience where you have to rely more on yourself than other players.

Agreed, playing RuneScape for the very first time, as an Ironman no less, would be a very gruelling experience indeed.

You'll definitely want to play a regular account. Like the other people have said, Ironman requires a lot more effort from you, and I think pretty much everyone would only recommend it to veterans and people that've played RuneScape before. It is a more rewarding mode, for sure, but not if you don't have the time, or the knowledge / experience, to do it with.

Exactly like others have said, every single "new player" Ironman almost universally quits the game when they realize they signed themselves up for one of the most painful Prayer and Herblore XP grinds possible in a game already infamous for its grind.

Or at the prospect of having to grind for Vindicta's 1/1,000,000,000,000 lance drop rate

Save yourself a lot of pain and unneeded misery by just letting yourself play and trade with others.
