Daemonheim Aura 2, disable bonecrusher??
So I completed the Medium tasks for Daemonheim and got the Aura 2 upgrade, so now the game auto-buries all bones that drop, like Bonecrusher. I get way more exp from sacrificing bones to the altars in Daemonheim, especially dragon bones and accursed ashes etc... Is there any way to disable the bone burying setting for the Aura or is it just there forever now? I want the rest of the benefits it comes with, just not the bones.

Preferably I'd have it set like my Bonecrusher and have it bury all basic bones but leave the rest, is that not a thing??

do you have to activate the Aura for the bones to be crushed like most Aura's..also there is a bonecrusher setting to tell it what bones to crush..it is the first picture to the right

I know how to alter the settings on the Bonecrusher but I'm almost certain the Aura just doesn't have that option. The aura has all the benefits of Aura 1 (for completing Daemonheim Easy tasks) and Aura 2 (completing Daemonheim Medium tasks), so you can remove it in a dungeon but you'll lose all the benefits that come with it, not just the Bonecrusher mode. So it kinda sucks :LCTree:

fair enough..my apologuies if i came across as you did'nt know what you were doing..it's evident you know more than myself looking up the rs wiki..co-incidently there was no reported compatability issues regarding the Daemonheim aura's & bonecrusher together which makes me think it a code injection error where it has not been properly tested & just realised in-game content

By the looks of it the aura has effects that apply at all times and effects by wearing the aura itself. So you could disable the worn effects by not wearing it (you can unequip it maybe?)

The false bonecrusher is a worn effect so if you remove the aura it won't happen, however that also means giving up; The free revive, Arrows returning to you, and on later auras; The backhand override and being able to create a 2nd personal gatestone.

The stuff that applies no matter what are; Secondary Role and it's effectiveness, The 3 bind slots (2 normal, 1 potion), Smuggler Runes and Smuggler Discount

At level 4 you can activate you aura for 1 hour every 4 hours and each buried/bonecrushed bone restores 20 prayer points.

So unless you're ranged then all you miss is the free death. You might be able to get away with using a 2nd gatestone by equipping and unequipping the aura but I wouldn't know and can't test it.

I believe the 2nd gatestone is aura 4.

Thanks for your input guys! Yeah it just seems like an oversight.
I found someone asking the same question on Reddit and someone replied saying it's impossible to alter it, and suggested they forward it to the Runescape team for fixing. So maybe one day? :cuphead:

Maybe. Personally, it's never been a thing for me. I've never looked at Dungeoneering as a method of training other skills. I've only ever viewed it as a minigame. And I never did it with anyone else. I used lamps, stars, etc. to get it to level 53 and then solo'ed all the way to 120 on my own, especially back when the Daily Challenges gave far more xp for completing a floor than they do now.

So I pretty much ignored that bonus for the aura since I was already getting auto-bury from the Bonecrusher and my goal was to get through floors as quickly as possible.

Good luck to you in the game.

I really enjoy Dungeoneering, I find it as a really easy way of getting good exp in nearly all the different skills at once. Because it gives you materials based on your level to utilise, like if you're level 70 Woodcutting you'll get a lot of Corpsethorn trees and that kind of level, Argonite ore spawns constantly when you're 60+ mining, and mining and smithing in the dungeons is wayyyy faster than in the main game. They obviously changed the main game and made the long progress bar (and the forge heating mechanic) for smithing items that used to be an instant build thing. and progress bars on mining high level ore just makes that slow too. In dungeons you get an ore per swing of your pick -- usually

The thing I really hate about Dungeoneering is when you're doing a floor with max complexity (6) and you run into a few doors that require levels above what you currently have. But since Dungeoneering really does not follow any logical sense whatsoever, it does not take into account virtual levels (any levels you have earned above level 99). So you can run across a door that requires level 107 Herblore when you already have level 114 but the game still considers you to only have level 99. That's frustrating beyond belief.

So I was more than happy when I finally got 120 Dung. I still need to do it occasionally because I have just a couple of more upgrades left to the Ring of Kingship but once that's done, I don't ever plan to set foot in another dungeon ever again.

On a side note, I've always cross trained all of my skills as much as possible so I never looked on Dung as a means of training anything other than Dung. I'd always try to complete floors as quickly as possible so I could reset the ring (prestige).

Back when the skill was first introduced however, there were loads of issues with it and glitches were present in the training which allowed quite a few people to get massive xp from various skills. They had to patch it quickly but yeah, a lot of people got 99s in days, some even in hours, while doing Dung back then.

I get the general point, but that is a really poor example, both because Herblore doesn't have virtual levels any more, and because Herblore is one of the main ways of getting through those high level doors. Herblore for potions, Summoning for the portents of passage, and Invention for the lock melters and the outfit with its skill boosts. Plus the skill door boost you can buy with tokens, and the smoke devil card.
But all that aside, you never get the really high level ones on the essential path, so you can just ignore them (and if you're speedrunning, you should).

Are you Ironman? Because if not, you'd be better off with Sinkholes and EDs. Or just getting token boxes.

No BuzzardBee is correct, dungeoneering doesnt get updated with the rest of the game so herblore in dungeoneering is the same as it was in 2010 before, so in dungeoneering 99 herb would be the cap, thus you need to boost to open a 101 herb door even if you have 105 herb in the rest of the game, Theres a lot of different example of this in dungeoneering
